5 Things You Should Know About the C.O.G.I.C Denomination of Christianity

Formed in 1897, the Church of God in Christ is a Christian denomination hugely dominated by African-American individuals, with over 5 million believers. Its wings spread in over 70 countries on various continents. It is, in fact, the largest Pentecostal church in the United States. It holds dearly to Christian traditional doctrines, such as repentance and holiness, faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sin, infallibility of the word of God, the true nature of God, and rapture of the Christian church.

The members are involved in various ministries such as the prison ministry, health and wellness ministry, and also urban and global outreach ministries. Below is a list of things about the Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C):

1.     A strong belief in the Bible

The denomination believes the Bible to be the only true doctrine in which God speaks to and inspires them. All authority and order which they practice comes from the word of God, whose nature they try to imitate.
