hot-carA Missouri man says after rescuing a child from a hot car he was punched by the child’s mom.

Jeremy Welch said he’d just finished dinner in Chipotle when he saw a two year old child in an unlocked car at around 7p.m. He admits that the windows were partially rolled down, reports WDAF, but says his wife encouraged him to help the child.

“We had dinner, we came out and I noticed as I passed a car parked in a handicapped spot that there was a child in the backseat. She was unattended, the windows were cracked, it was 91 degrees out and she was sweating profusely,” Jeremy Welch told WDAF. “Finally my wife said, ‘the little girl can’t stay in there.’ She opened the car and pulled the child out.”

Welch says other people who witnessed the incident took the young girl inside the restaurant to cool off.

When the child’s mother, Tiquana Pasco, 29, exited a Game Stop and saw that her child had been removed from the vehicle, she began yelling at people to bring her child back.

Pasco reportedly told police that she’d only been in the store for a few minutes and when she returned, a stranger had her child.

What do you think?  Should some parents be forced to take classes on how to properly raise children?  If a parent leaves their child in a hot car because they don’t know the dangers, how should this affect their punishment.
