One Chicago woman is facing arson charges after she allegedly set a fire because her boyfriend smoked up all her weed.

The woman told police that she took a nap and when she woke up, all of her weed was gone. She accused her boyfriend, with whom she shared the apartment, of smoking all her weed.

Lopez moved into the apartment after someone else moved out and, according to police, had been “partying and consuming large amounts of heroin on a daily basis.”

“The tenants inside the building are lucky to be alive. The two elderly tenants that live in the basement, both in their late 80s and early 90s, one is blind and the other is deaf. There’s no possible way these individuals could have made it out of the apartment on their own if the building had become fully engulfed,” said Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel.
