Kanye Gives Epic Acceptance Speech At The B.E.T. Honors

Kanye West is one of the most controversial rappers in America with his witty lyrics and outspoken personality. Last night though, he seemed extremely humbled and people seemed to listen when he spoke at the B.E.T. Honors during his own acceptance speech.

Last night was a night of triumph along with a night of understanding, for African Americans who live in this country today and the African Americans who came before us.

Mr. West, being the super star that he is and married to one of the most famous women in the world, that did mean that he forgot B.E.T. and how they helped to boost his career in the direction that it has gone.

West was presented with the Visionary Award by the former Roc-A-Fella producer and former best friend of Jay-Z, Dame Dash (who was missing a tooth for some strange reason). Dash revealed to the crowd that he didn’t respect Kanye as a rapper, but admired his courage and pride. Something that I can even say I loved about Kanye West. Dash claimed to admire him as a visionary and Kanye said that he was humbled by the whole experience.

Thanking Stephen Hill and many others who helped get him to where he is today, addressed racism and the want for people to focus on love rather than on separation.

Yeezy also spoke on the slave mentality, black expression and the importance of ownership.

Kanye tells a short story about his late father-in-law, Robert Kardashian Sr. who put together the defense team for the famous O.J. Simpson trial.

He also speaks about African American men and how they are only presented with the opportunities to make it into the league or make it big as a rapper, but he wanted people to understand that becoming an owner is actually owning the team and not playing FOR ONE.

After exiting the stage, Dame posted a selfie that he, his daughter and West took together.

This is interesting in my opinion, being that Kanye and Dame have had some drama in the past. So why would Kanye request that Dame honor him with the award? Maybe that will be something to talk about soon.
