During the winter, if you are anything like me, you have experienced dry scalp and horrible hair breakage because of the dehydration and dryness of the winter air. I have found 3 amazing tips on how to keep your hair moisturized during those trying times when you are just ready to call if quits and go crazy.

Moisture Tip 1:

Be sure to Co-Wash your hair every day when you take a shower. Just lightly saturating your hair in your favorite conditioner or mayonnaise cream will give your hair the luster and moisture that it needs. And the good thing about this option is that if you decide that you don’t want to wash the cream or conditioner out of your hair then you don’t have to. You can wear your hair in a curly puff, put a bonnet on or just twist your hair up in a style. Your scalp will instantly feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

Moisture Tip 2:

Deep condition your hair with your favorite deep conditioner once a week. I would recommend shampooing your hair like normal and then making your deep conditioner. Apply it all over the head, from the scalp to the ends and sit under a hooded dryer for at least 20 minutes.

The good thing about a hooded dryer is that you can just relax and allow the heat from the dryer to open up your cuticle as the conditioner seeps down into the scalp.

I do recommend rinsing the deep conditioner out when you are finished. Use room temperature to cool temperature water. This will allow the cuticle to close back up and if you decide that you want to style your hair with a blow dryer and thermal tool, then this technique will give the hair a natural shine and sleek feel.

Moisture Tip 3:

Give your hair and scalp a nice greasing every night. Some people don’t like to use hair greases because they feel that it makes their hair too heavy. I would recommend only to use grease when you are planning to wear a twist out, braid out or just your natural curls. If you are planning to thermally style your hair then grease may not be the best product to use, there are plenty of hair serums for thermal styling and blowouts anyway.

Keeping your hair moisturized is extremely important if you want to promote healthy and happy hair growth. Just follow those 3 moisturizing options and I promise you won’t regret it.

Those are my 3 short ‘How To’ tips of the day. Good Luck & Thanks For Reading!
