Sheryl Underwood has been friends with Sherri Shepherd for a very long time. She spoke about her fellow comedian with TMZ this week when they asked her about Shepherd leaving “The View.”  It had been reported that the show’s executives were letting go of everyone except for Whoopi Goldberg, though Shepherd has offered a mixed claim that she made the decision to leave herself.

Underwood says that most comedians know when their time is up and that it’s time to move on.

Shepherd recently stated that the bible told her that her time should be up with the show.

“Seven in the Bible is the number of God’s completion. And I’ve been here seven years and my time at The View is complete,” she said.

Sherri gave a teary goodbye to the cast and audience of the show earlier this week, reflecting on many of the great things that have happened over the years.

“I’ve been blessed to interview Barack Obama; Bill Clinton is a a big fan of mine –he loved that I played a hooker in One for the Money,” she said.

Shepherd has been in the news a great deal lately.  She recently filed for divorce from her husband Lamar Sally after two years of marriage. She also got attention for stating in legal documents that she wants nothing to do with the surrogate child that they’ve legally contracted to bring into the world.

How do you think things will play out for Shepherd?

Here is what Underwood had to say about Shepherd’s exit from the show.
