There was a time when Bobby Brown could rock the stage with his slick moves and perform acrobatics like he was sipping a cool glass of water. First with “New Edition” and even later when he went solo, he made sure that people not only enjoyed his music but also the dancing that came with it.

Well, time has certainly taken its toll on the “My Prerogative” singer. He is getting old and a life spent smoking and drinking will eventually make even the strongest of men slow down, to say the least.

But, in a recent “New Edition” performance Brown just couldn’t cut it – his slowing down was quite obvious. So much so that he had to eventually stop, right in the middle of a song.

The show was in Mississippi and the group was performing “If It Isn’t Love“. Now, for those that aren’t into trivia that song was one of the top hits that would come from “New Edition.”  But times have changed since Brown and his comrades were healthy young men with strong physical attributes.

Don’t Be Cruel” by Bobby Brown, was actually the number one song during the year that “If it isn’t love” came out.  So, had Brown not been such a blockbuster back in the day, New Edition’s song would have been number one.  This had to be sweet redemption for a man who’d been voted out of the group just two years earlier.

Coming back to the show last week, everything started off fine and the group seemed to show their trademark synchronized moves – albeit much slower than they used to be and not as flashy as they were back in the day. B

In the video provided by TMZ, Brown bends over with his hands on his knees and stays there. After he catches his breath, he does an about-turn and simply walks off the stage.
