Atlanta Water Inspector Fired for Demanding Restaurant Cook Her Pork Chops
An Atlanta water inspector has lost her job after demanding free food in exchange for givinggood scores to a popular restaurant.
According to a local Fox affiliate in Atlanta, Cynthia Burch didn’t demand cash bribes, but restaurant food from the tavern.
Burch not only wanted free meals, but she also brought in her own pork chops and steaks and demanded that Manuel’s Tavern prepare her meals.
Authorities say Burch threαtened to cause problems for the restaurant if they did not comply with her wishes.
Burch denied the allegations at first but when faced with evidence, she eventually admitted that she’d demanded meals from the restaurant and was fired.
Manuel’s Tavern is a popular restaurant in Atlanta that is also a hub for local politicos. The restaurant’s website describes itself as “a broad cross-section of American culture rubbing elbows at the bar, discussing the news item of the day, arguing the merits of a sports team, or espousing the idea of the century.”
