Social media seems to be the place where people say what they want and it can either be taken one of two ways, as just a random comment that is easy to overlook or as a whole lot of shade and sarcasm that must be addressed.

We all know that Azealia Banks is known for getting caught up in her feelings when it comes to social media and the ‘back and forth’ with big name artists like T.I. and Iggy Azealia. But just recently she has ensued a war with The Queen of all Musical Queens… Erykah Badu!

Say what? Yeah, the one and only Ms. Badu.

Banks wasn’t too happy about some things that Badu had to say about her music last Thursday, according to Twitter fans of the two stars. Badu admitted that she was “tired” of listening to Banks.

According to Vibe, the exchange that took place went accordingly when a fan asked Badu if she’d ever listened to Azealia Banks music:

“@pradahungry Does @fatbellybella listen to azealia banks? Always wanted to know.”

“@fatbellybella Tried”

“@AZEALIABANKS @fatbellybella @pradahungry lol, what’s the shade?”

So needless to say that Banks wasn’t feeling what Badu had to say, not giving her work a great review and all… But, then Banks goes on to claim that Badu is just jealous:

Badu soon checked Banks in a calm and cool way by just lightly brushing her off. It was clearly nothing major to the Queen after all.

“@AZEALIABANKS When artists grow old and begin to recognize their own mortality they throw shade at younger spirits”

“@AZEALIABANKS We see it happen ALL the time.”

“@AZEALIABANKS Whether or not you like me… You are WATCHING, and that’s what’s most important.”

A fan in the argument pointed out that Badu had her location on and it showed that she was repping Queens!!

When will these artists crawl out of their own backs and realize that it’s perfectly okay for someone not to like your music? It happens. I mean dang! Shoot me!

Not everybody is going to like you, but not everything is a personal attack on your character. Azealia just really needs to get over herself and realize that it’s not what the nayers nay, it’s about what the yayers yay! In other words, don’t worry about the people who don’t like the music, focus on the people who do. After all, they are the ones who support your career and pay the bills.
