One of the most frequent statements that I hear every single day is, “I just don’t know what is wrong. It’s like my hair grows to a certain length and then it just stops.” First off, your hair can’t just grow to a certain length and stop, the hair strand strictly grows from the root and not from the ends. The only thing that can hinder your hair growth is not getting your hair trimmed regularly and allowing the breakage to take over your head. Hair growth is something that can take place with any individual, no matter what your race is… Yes! Black peoples hair can grow too! Here are 8 easy steps to take in order to promote your own healthy hair growth. Good Luck!

1. Keep Your Hair Moisturized

Always, after every single wash, remember to use Conditioner. Search for conditioners that advertise for brittle, dry or damaged hair. If you are one of those women who likes to make her own conditioner then I would encourage you to use in home items such as mayonnaise. Mayo is a great deep conditioner because of all of the oils that it carries within the ingredients. Wear this deep conditioner for about 20 minutes and the end results will have your scalp deeply moisturized. And if Mayo is not the way for you, then I would encourage the use of Coconut Oil.

2. Trim Your Hair When Needed

Even though your main goal is to grow your hair longer than it is, the best way to do that is to trim your ends. Damaged, fried ends can slow down your hair growth process. Trim your ends every time you feel it to be necessary, and don’t  cut anything more than just the split ends.

3. Take Hair Growth Vitamins Regularly

Do not take Hairfinity!!!! I repeat, Do Not Take Hairfinity!!!!!!!! The only vitamin that I have found that is affective and does not grow your hair in massive, unrealistic amounts is Biotin. Biotin helps to promote healthy skin, strong nails, and fuller, thicker, longer hair, and even if you decide to stop taking this vitamin you won’t be a victim to any break outs or hair shedding. One a day keeps the baldness away. lol

4. Protect Your Hair/Ends

It is okay to wear your hair down, if that is what you like to do, but remember to put your hair up every once in a while to protect your ends. Pinning your hair into a cute bun with bobby pins can help to protect it.

5. Avoid Using Heat On Your Hair

Even though I know that it is hard to do, try to limit the amount of heat on your hair. I use heat on my real hair once every 2-3 months, most of the time I will wear braid outs, twist outs, buns, or just weaves and wigs and I can honestly say that my hair growth has been pretty rapid, along with taking the Biotin Vitamins daily.

6. Spread Out Time Between Chemical Use

Try to wait at least 3 months in between the timing of using relaxers and other chemicals such as hair color. And if you think you can do it, try neglecting relaxers all together, the non-use of relaxers helps to encourage infinite hairstyles as well as healthier hair growth.

7. Avoid Tight Braids

When getting weaves and sew-ins try to avoid tight braiding. Tight braids can cause the hairline to fade, as well as the hair to shed and leave bald spots. It is always good to have secure braids, instead of tight braids. There is a huge difference.

8. Follow These Steps

Last, but not least, as long as you follow these hair steps and remain PATIENT, you won’t regret it. Your hair will be healthy and happy!
