If you want to live with optimum health, then it goes without saying that you’re going to have sacrifice the instant gratification that comes from eating (and overeating) junk food, relying on stimulants and depressants such as coffee, caffeine, cigarettes, pharmaceutical and recreational drugs, and being a couch potato who sits in front of the TV for hours on end.

Optimum health requires a complete change of lifestyle from the above behaviours. Even if you’ve hit rock bottom with your weight loss efforts, if you take the time out to just add one or two of these good habits to your normal daily routine, you’ll soon find

1. Make Time To Visualise

If you cannot picture yourself with your ideal body, then you are seriously undermining your weight loss efforts. Take 5 minutes each and every day to visualise yourself at your ideal weight; perhaps you’re wearing a favourite outfit or doing something new or fun. You can make your visualisation more effective if you do it during exercise — don’t stress about it, you can even do it while taking a walk around the block. Simply hold the image for up to 5 minutes and then let it go.

2. Drink Enough Water

Make sure you drink between 8-10 full glasses of water each day. You should also begin your day by sipping a cup of warm water that has a squeeze of fresh lemon added. This helps to make the body alkaline… acidic bodies hold onto more toxins, which cause weight gain and inflammation.
