Erykah Badu Announces A Globe-Spanning Summer Trek Dubbed ‘Badu Vs. Everythang Tour.’

Erykah Badu recently announced that she would be going on the tour dubbed; the “Badu Vs. Everythang Tour,” set to hit stages worldwide from May to September 2017.

Badu made the announcement of the music news on Twitter on the morning of May 3rd, along with a tour scheduled dates and cities.

The tour was set to touchdown in Birmingham, on May 6, running through Atlanta, Houston, and New Orleans, before heading to New Orleans.

The tour will then cover venues in London, Switzerland, Copenhagen, and Finland. Badu will wrap up the 5-month tour in the United States, visiting major cities such as Los Angeles, Charlotte, and New York City.

Additionally, the neo-soul singer is set to pay London another visit for a special, tribute concert at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on July 6. The concert will serve as an anniversary commemoration of the 20-year milestone since the release of her 1997 hit album, Baduizm.

Moreover, she confirmed her attendance at the second annual Meadows Festival in Queens, New York this September.
There are no vivid descriptions as to when the tickets for the tour will go on sale, considering the timeliness of the event.

Badu has seen a significant transformation in her life. She is best known for her soulful music style, showcased on albums such as the Grammy Award-winning Baduizm and 1997’s Live.

Her musical success rose when she released a debut album, Baduizm, which exploded onto the music scene in 1997. It had soulful hits such as “On & On,” and “Next Lifetime.”

Baduizm marked a shift in the music of its time and received critical acclaims. It won two Grammy Awards, for best female R&B vocal performance and best R&B album.

Besides music, Erykah Badu engages in a philanthropic role. In 2003, Badu gave back to the community that had raised her by transforming the Black Forest Theater into a space for charity events and theater, and also to serve as the offices for her nonprofit organization, B.L.I.N.D.

Additionally, in 2005, Badu launched her music label, Control FreaQ Records whose primary mission was to allow its artist’s creative freedom. Badu is the reigning queen of neo-soul. She continues to create music, art and spirituality everywhere she goes.
