Venus Williams recently did an interview with Self.com about her upcoming collection “Diamonds” on her athletic line ‘EleVen’. We’ve got eleven gems you need to know about the upcoming spring line and it’s designer:
.) Williams is the first graduate in an agreement between Indiana University East and the Women’s Tennis Benefits Association.
“IU East and the Women’s Tennis Benefits Association have an agreement that establishes our campus as the primary provider for baccalaureate online degree completion programs for WTA players,” said India University East Chancellor Kathryn Cruz-Uribe in an article on Indiana University’s website.
.) Venus Williams has an Associates degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana University East.
.) The athletic wear line “EleVen” was created five years ago. In March 2012, Willams debuted the athletic line in Miami after being “forced off shelves after retailer Steve & Barry’s went bankrupt” four years prior as Daily Mail UK describes.

.) The “Diamonds” line was designed to be bold in print and color to reflect the strength and sports expression. Williams said, “I wanted to create a line that felt fun and bold and unlike anything else out there in fitness gear” in her Self.com interview.
.) Williams test the comfortability and performance of the pieces on her line. She told Self.com “When you’re wearing something, it needs to perform and be comfortable so that your clothing doesn’t distract you from your workouts”.
.) Tennis stars such as Johanna Konta, Jarmila Gajdosova, and Varvara Lepchenk have worn “EleVen” in major tennis tournaments. “ I love how EleVen by Venus Williams marries performance and style the brand makes me look good and I feel great wearing it,” Konta said to tennisnow.com in 2013.
.) “EleVen” is available online and in multiple tennis stores and country clubs nationwide. Many Four Seasons Resort locations and Racquet clubs carry the athletic line as well.
.) The pieces in the “Diamond” collection range in price. The least expensive item being the “Diamond” headband at $13 in price and the most expensive being the “Diamond Finish Line” Jacket at $110.
.) The sizes in the “Diamond” collection run from extra small through extra-extra large (XXL) and one size fits all.
