Remy Ma Has Dissed Nicki Minaj & The Internet Is Going Crazy!
BY: NISHA THOMAS
The newest war of words between Nicki Minaj and Remy Ma has now escalated to new heights and things are looking pretty bad. Just this past Saturday night, Ma dropped a diss track in reference to Minaj called “Shether,” which is what some would describe as a vicious seven-minute diss using rapper Nas’ classic “Ether” beat that was first heard in reference to Jay Z.
“Shether,” with the artwork of a dismantled Barbie doll that resembled the famous Young Money rapper, only comes just one day after Minaj used her verse in Gucci Mane’s “Make Love” to aim her lyrical attack toward what many would have assumed to be Remy Ma.
Kanye West said that she could be one of the best MCs ever. So why did she seem so irritated in this recent verse?
“Talking ’bout bringing knives to a fight with guns / When the only shots you ever took was in your buns,” Remy Ma says on “Shether,” a response to Minaj’s line about “trying to win a gunfight with a bunch of knives.”
Over the course of Ma’s diss track, she explicitly speaks on Minaj’s breakup from Meek Mill, her alleged hookup with Trey Songz, Lil’ Wayne, Gucci Mane and so many others, implying that the rapper also uses a ghostwriter and even openly calls out Minaj’s family drama where her brother is now facing 25 to life for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
In response to Minaj’s “Make Love” lyric, “You see, silly rabbit / To be the queen of rap / You gotta sell / You gotta get plaques,” Remy Ma fired back, “Stop talking numbers / You signed a 360 deal through Young Money, through Cash Money, through Republic / Which means your money goes through five n*ggas before you touch it / Any videos, endorsements come out of your budget / Endorsements, tour and merchandise, they finger-f*ck it / You make like 35 cents off of each ducket.”
“Stop comparing yourself to Jay [Z], you’re not like him / You a motherf*cking worker, not a boss like Rem,” Remy Ma added.
Minaj still has yet to put out another diss track, however, she has taken to her Instagram to poke fun at Fat Joe and Ma, their record sales and the fact that Beyoncé called her the “rap queen.”
So, what are your thoughts on this news? Think the two women are done? I don’t.
