Here Is Why Oprah Never Wanted Kids & Still Doesn’t

Television mogul and entertainment pioneer Oprah Winfrey says that she has absolutely no regrets about never having children.
“When people were pressuring me to get married and have children, I knew I was not going to be a person that ever regretted not having them because I feel like I am a mother to the world’s children,” she said in the April issue of Good Housekeeping UK while talking about her Leadership Academy for Girls.
“Love knows no boundaries,” she continued. “It doesn’t matter if a child came from your womb or if you found that person at age 1, 10 or 20. If the love is real, the caring is pure and it comes from a good space, it works.”
The famous 63-year-old media mogul doesn’t even think that she would have really been a good mom.
“For me [the Leadership Academy] was perfect, because I didn’t want babies,” she said. “I don’t have the patience.”
When Winfrey was only a teen, she’d openly told the story of giving birth to a baby boy, who’d later passed away. Back in 2015, she’d revealed that she named her late son Canaan.
The wealthy Weight Watchers spokeswoman has been publicly in a relationship with Stedman Graham for the last 30 years, however, the two still have yet to get married.
Ms. Winfrey has been the idol of so many black girls around the world and we all wish that we could have her life and career, but ask yourself, do you think that she would be as successful as she is today if she’d gotten married and had children?
