TMZ first made reports of the news, which has been confirmed by Billboard after they’d spoken with his manager, David Weintraub.
According to Weintraub, the producers of Celebrity Big Brother initially “ignored” the singer’s medical requests just this past Sunday and ordered for him to continue shooting the show. That very next day, his conditions began to worsen and fellow cast mates of the show became more and more concerned for the younger brother of iconic singer and actress Brandy.
The show then brought in a dentist, who gave Ray J painkillers.
On Tuesday, Ray’s manager says that when his symptoms continued to get worse, producers finally gave into his pleas and took him to a nearby hospital, however, he’d blacked out on the way there due to the painkillers that he was given.
Weintraub says that Ray J is now resting and has plans to visit another dentist today (January 11th).
Meanwhile, his future on the show is currently up in the air. According to TMZ, he has been kicked off the show and could possibly be putting his $1 million deal in jeopardy. However, Weintraub told Billboard that it is not as simple as it all sounds. The show allegedly breached its contract with Ray J, who is supposedly the highest paid celebrity in the history of the program.
“There are a slew of legal issues that we are facing with the Big Brother program, because based on their actions they have breached their contract with us,” he said. “We waited a long time to put Ray J in any U.K. programming, we waited for the right show, and it’s unfortunate due to unforeseen circumstances that his first television show has so many issues that we’re dealing with.”
