It now seems as if rapper T.I. just may have to open up his checkbook. According to news from TMZ, the rapping husband of singer Tiny, as well as his management, are being slapped with a major lawsuit for a whopping $390,000.
The suit is being brought about by a promotion company after he’d allegedly skipped out on a performance at a high school graduation party in Florida just this past June.
The CEO of Planet Productions, Gigi Stetler, confirmed that there was a lawsuit in the works in an email that she’d sent to Billboard.
Planet Productions is claiming that they’d spent over $10,000 a day in marketing to promote the June 11th show prior to T.I. allegedly pulling out of the performance.
They are now seeking to gain back $300,000 for marketing and licensing costs, as well as $90,000 that they claimed to have paid for his booking fee.
Earlier this year, Planet Productions had initially demanded that they receive a $55,000 refund following the news of a deadly shooting that took place at Irving Plaza in New York City during a May 25th show that Tip was scheduled to perform at. He didn’t perform that night.
The promotion company also claims that they were concerned with the fact that the event was marketed as a “safe environment for students.”
T.I. still has yet to comment on the news of this new lawsuit, however, we are hopeful that everything gets taken care of soon.
