We absolutely love a good movie, especially a good biopic, which is what we are now preparing for.

Actress and author Octavia Spencer recently optioned the book, “On Her Own Ground: The Life and Times of Madam C.J. Walker” written by the great-great-granddaughter of the famously known beauty mogul, A’Lelia Bundles. Which basically means that we will now have to prepare ourselves for a project that involves Walker’s life being relived on the small screen.

As it was reported by Deadline, this great story will be limited to a television series that will be directed by Kasi Lemmons and written by Nicole Asher.

For some of you who may be unfamiliar with Madam Walker, she was the very first female entrepreneur that became a self-made millionaire in the United States of America. Her business strictly catered to the beauty of the African American woman.

Walker’s most notable practice was in training and dispersing thousands of workers to sell her hair products by going from door-to-door.

HBO is said to be in dealings with this new project, which will work in conjunction with Viola Davis’ Harriet Tubman project.

There are no exact dates yet for the television series, however, we are super excited that our history is now being told on the big screen by the hands of Octavia Spencer.
