Famous ‘American Horror Story’ actress Angela Bassett has now joined the highly-awaited Marvel film ‘Black Panther,’ and she will be playing the mother of the main character.

Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyung’o and Danai Gurira of ‘The Walking Dead’ are also playing major parts in this epic film. “Creed” genius Ryan Coogler is set to direct what many are saying will be the best film of 2018.

Actor Chadwick Boseman will be playing ‘T’Challa,’ the prince of the African nation of Wakanda, who is now forced to take over the throne since his father has been murdered.

Marvel unveiled this new character during ‘Captain America: Civil War’ just last May and Boseman’s standalone film is set to hit theatres on February 16th of 2018.

Production for ‘Black Panther’ is set to begin in the first quarter of next year.

Joe Robert Cole is also co-penning the script along with heavy hitting Coogler. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is going to be the producer behind this great film.

The Marvel movie is going to mark Ms. Bassett’s second journey down into comic book avenue, having made a special appearance in DC’s ‘Green Lantern’ film, starring Ryan Reynold’s.

Bassett took it upon herself to reprise her role as Secret Service Director Lynne Jacobs in ‘London Has Fallen.’ And on the small screen, she was just witnessed playing another horrifying role for ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke.’

The famous mother and wife is also preparing to present her new mini-series ‘Close to the Enemy,’ which we will all get to witness soon enough.

So, what are your thoughts on this news? Are you happy that Bassett is working overtime this year? She seems to have a lot of projects coming up for 2017 and 2018 and I can’t wait to see all of them.
