Rapper DMX Is Released From Jail But May Be Going Back. Here’s Why

DMX is officially a free man… at least for the time being. The troubled Ruff Ryder could be headed back to jail pending his upcoming hearing.
The rapper was sentenced to six months back in July for lack of child support payments and now tells TMZ that there was an issue with his original conviction. X claims that he was never made aware of the fact that he owed money to the mother of his child. If courts are able to prove that he knew about his child support payments and just chose not to pay, DMX will be back behind bars.
The rapper, who was released this past Friday, said now that he is free he will be heading back to the studio to record more music.
Recently the Ruff Ryders rapper made headlines after his son sold his platinum plaques on eBay for a ridiculously cheap price.
According to TMZ, X’s commemorative plaque for his first four multi-platinum selling albums – “It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot,” “Flesh of My Flesh,” “Blood of My Blood” & “And Then There Was X” – were sold on eBay for only $3,000.
DMX was reportedly “livid” and extremely hurt by his son’s actions, claiming that he never gave his son permission to sell the plaque.
According to Billboard, just as he was about to go on stage to perform at the Radio City Music Hall, DMX, born Earl Simmons, was sentenced to six months in jail on July 14th due to his failure to pay support.
A spokesman for the Sheriff’s Department told WPIX-TV that DMX had at least $400,000 worth of unpaid child support that was due and a warrant was issued by the city of White Plains after DMX allegedly received a robbery complaint in New Jersey. There were no charges filed in that case.
The 44-year-old rapper was scheduled to perform at the Master of Ceremony concert at Radio City on June 26th during the time of his arrest.
DMX’s first five albums all debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album charts. He was also scheduled to perform at the Shaggfest of 2015 in Virginia, but was unable to attend due to DMX being..well..DMX.
Our best wishes go out to DMX and his family. It’s heartbreaking to see such a talented rapper continually on the wrong end of the stick. Give us your thoughts below.
