A Mississippi couple is alleging that Jackson police pulled a gun on their sixRoby family year old son while serving a warrant at the family’s home.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that police came to Paul and Angela Thompson Roby’s home in search of Angela’s brother. Police say they had reason to believe that 23 year old Carneigio Gray, who has an outstanding warrant, was staying at the home.

According to police Gray resisted arrest and when the couple’s six year old son begged police not to hurt his uncle, officers pointed their guns at the special needs child.

“My mother was telling them, ‘Hey please don’t point your gun at my grandbaby. Please don’t do that,'” Angela Roby said.

Ridgeland police say they are not aware of the family’s allegations.

“The family has not reached out to us, they have not filed any kind of officer complaint through our proper channels, and we haven’t heard from the family,” Ridgeland Police Spokesman John Neal said. “So as far as making any comments on what those allegations are, we can’t.”

Neal said he’s happy to discuss the incident with the family.

“We’ve got policies and procedures for citizens to file complaints, and there are channels that are in place for citizens to lodge complaints with us to where they can be investigated,” he said. “If this family feels they’ve been wronged, our doors are open. We’d be happy to talk to them.”

This accusation comes just weeks after a Florida father accused police of pulling a gun on his 11 year old daughter while she lay in bed.

Two Florida officers responding to a burglary call entered the family home through the garage and allegedly pointed their guns at an 11 year old girl who was lying on her bed watching television.
