11 Year Old Charged With Beαting Deαth of 2 Month Old

An 11 year old Cleveland girl is being charged with the mυrder of a 2 month old infant who was being babysat by her mother.

The suspect’s mother was babysitting so that the child’s mother could get a break.

After the woman fell asleep on the couch at 3AM, the girl took the baby, Zuri Whitehead, upstairs. The girl returned a short time later to tell her mom that there was something wrong with the baby.

According to woman, the baby had been badly injured when she was brought back by the 11 year old.

The woman called 911 and the baby was rushed to a trauma center, but didn’t survive surgery. The infant had extreme injuries to her brain, liver, spleen and kidney, Ice said.

Zuri’s mother, Trina Whitehead, had been friends with the woman who was babysitting her child for five or six years, NBC News reports.

“The child was beαten to deαth,” said Chief Randy Ice, with the Wickliffe Police Department, according to KFOR.

Chief Ice says investigators haven’t determined a motive.

“We’re trying to figure out what would motivate someone to do something like that,” Chief Randy Ice told reporters. “And so far, we haven’t come up with an answer.”

Juvenile Judge Karen Lawson entered a not guilty plea for the girl at a detention hearing Monday and ordered that she undergo a competency hearing.

The suspect is a middle schooler who has previously had the police called on her for a nonviolent incident.
