Video of a four year old girl crying hysterically to her mother after beingchild racism shunned by racist friends recently went viral. Thankfully, however, this story has a happy ending, since the girl now has a new friend.

When 4 year old Londyn James came from school crying, her mother, 35 year old Tomeka Fisher, began recording the incident.

“My 4yr old is crying her heart out and so am I. I don’t know what to do or say! A girl at her school told her this,” the original post read.

“She told me that a girl told her she didn’t want to be friends with her because she was black,” the St. Louis mom told People magazine. “I didn’t know who would believe me, so I decided to videotape it.”

The heartbreaking video went viral, eventually totaling over 10 million views.

“It was remarkable,” Fisher told the magazine. “I just wanted people to know that no child should be told someone doesn’t want to be their friend because of their race or how they look.”

News anchor Jeff Cunningham says the video of the young girl touched him so deeply that he knew he had to take action.

“As a dad, it just broke my heart to see a child cry,” the KFVS anchor said. “I also thought it could be a good learning tool for my 5-year-old daughter.”

Cunningham said he asked his daughter, Holland, if she wanted to be friends with London and the young girl was ecstatic at the opportunity.

“She drew a picture for Londyn that said, ‘I will be your friend,’ ” he said.

London received the picture at her daycare center.

“We received the letter from you and your daughter thank you so much, she’s such a sweet heart!” Fisher’s Facebook post to Cunningham’s wall read.
