Being an African American girl one of the issues that I have is trying to find the perfect lipsticks for my shade of skin. We are all different colors and tones so what may work for me may not work for you.

One of the tips that I can give you when it comes to searching for the perfect lip shade is try it on before you buy it. You may be thinking, ‘hell naw! I’m not putting anything on my lips that someone else has worn already!” But when I say try it on I don’t mean putting it on your lips, I mean trying it on the back of your hand. That is best way you can see if it stands out too much or if it carries the perfect look that you were going for in the first place.

For the winter seasons many women like to wear red lips, be sure to try the lipstick on first. Reds are the hardest lip colors to find that will match an African American womans skin tone perfectly. There are some cool reds, some warm reds, some pink-toned reds, some orange-toned reds and then there are some hot reds. The hot reds are normally the ones that I go for. They make my teeth look whiter as well as make my skin glow a little more than expected. They make my smile shine and look perfect as well.
