Woman tries to claim $94 million dollar tax refund

Remember when you would hear the words “Dont’ try this at home?”  Well, those words apply right now.  A woman in Atlanta was arrested for doing something that can only make you want to check her IQ and her insanity; you may also want to test her for drugs.  She filed a fake tax return with the IRS for a stunning $94 million dollar refund.

Of course, this sent a red flag through the bureau, and they followed up.  This led to her being arrested on live television.

Channel 2 Action News as on the scene when the woman was taken away in handcuffs. She is being charged with attempted theft by taking and conspiracy to defraud the state.  But she may need to have her head checked to see if she can plead the insanity defense.  Did she really think she would get away with that one?

Brigitte Jackson, after striking the ire of the Georgia Department of Revenue, is probably on her way to prison for a very long time.  When you take the government’s money, they usually treat you worse than they would if you’d taken someone’s life.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s $94 or $94 million,” Special Investigations Chief Josh Waites told Channel 2. “We’re going to go after you and hold you accountable.”

The interesting tactic they used to arrest her was by calling her to tell her that her refund check was ready.  She then showed up to a grocery store bank to get the $94 million dollar check.  That’s when the cops nabbed her.  Yes, she thought she was going to get a $94 million dollar check at the grocery store.

By the way, Jackson’s cousin, Darrius White, also filed another false return of his own.  He reported $99 million in income and tried to get a pretty big return himself.  He too was taken into custody by the cops.

“They kept calling to check on their refund,” Waites said.

When the two “brilliant” criminals kept calling to check on their money, the phone calls were always recorded.  That’s probably going to be used against them in the court of law.

Once again, we remind you – don’t try this at home.
