Sinbad explains how success can bring you unhappiness

We all know him as “Coach Walter Oakes” from the hit television show A Different World—he is Sinbad.  Born on  November 10, 1956 in Benton Harbor, Michigan, Sinbad went on to star in many television shows and also was the first to head his own HBO music festival that was quite popular in the 1990’s.  He’s also won numerous awards for his work as a stand-up comedian and in film.  Sinbad’s most famous quote is “If you’re not happy before you’re successful, you’re going to be miserable when you do become successful because all your problems just get magnified.”

Here are 10 other facts about Sinbad that are interesting:

Fact #1:  His early beginnings- Sinbad’s real name is David Adkins. He is the son of a Baptist preacher and has five siblings.

Fact #2:  His high school years- In high school, Sinbad was part of his marching band and also a member of the math club.  There’s a lot of brain under that silly demeanor he likes to display.
