Phaedra Parks’ husband reports to prison: Here are his regrets
Phaedra Parks of Real Housewives of Atlanta might be the first to say that she made a big mistake by marrying Apollo Nida. Nida had a long history of criminal activity and had done prison time for fraud in the past. The marriage didn’t sit well for those who were already accusing Phaedra herself of unethical behavior.
It turned out that Apollo’s poor decisions were not quite behind him. He received eight years in prison for massive amounts of fraud against unsuspecting victims. Phaedra claims that this was a shock to her, and the couple immediately began divorce proceedings. Now it’s time for him to pay the piper, with his prison sentence beginning this month.
Apollo says that he has a long list of regrets for his choices, starting with the effect this debacle has had on his children.
“I have two major regrets,” Nida said. “The first is not being true to myself. When I came out of prison the first time, I told myself that I never wanted to be in this situation again. I had numerous talks with myself. I knew how to stay out of trouble but I lost focus. I didn’t stay true and I found myself quickly caught up in the same lifestyle I left six years prior. When I came home from prison, I wanted to be different. I wanted to live an honest life. I really did. I should have stuck to my guns.”
“My second regret,” he continued, “is letting my boys down. Now, my kids are going to have Christmas without their dad because of my decisions. Although I let them down, I will never stop loving them.”
Apollo also spoke recently about appearing on the show, Real Housewives of Atlanta. He says that although he was happy to support his wife by making the appearances, he wishes that he’d never been on the show in the first place.
“When I look back on my five years on the show, I don’t regret being on the show. At the time, I thought I was supporting my wife and her role on the show. Now that I look back on where I am now and where I came from, I wish I had taken a step back and truly figured out how to determine a storyline without causing any controversy.”
It sounds like he’s seeking to take responsibility for his decisions. We wish him the best in his quest for redemption.

Phaedra didn’t do her due diligence with picking and choosing this man for her future husband and father of her children. Firstly, if I had sex without the benefit of protection, you better believe me; I would definitely have taken the “Morning After Pill.” Phrada, I thought you were smarter than that! Oh well, I guess when it came to his good looks and physique, she just got so caught up and just didn’t even think, I know it’ll happen, I guess!
Nida probably has grown up in an environment with criminal activity surrounding him and it probably impacted his life greatly. However, it comes a point in time when after you’ve had an experience of crime and get caught and then do the time, then perhaps it’s time to carve out a different career path.

Over 50% of America hasn’t done “due diligence in the picking and choosing of a man for her future husband and father of her children” as you’ve stated, since the divorce rate supersedes those numbers and doesn’t even account for the number of women still with husbands who’ve done wrong and made horrible choices. Who in the world takes a Morning After pill after having sex with their husband or even has protected sex with their spouse? I absolutely wanted children with my husband and would never consider the morning after, but rather would have given thought the night before should I not have wanted to reproduce! You sound like someone who’s never had a husband! When two become one in marriage you then are allowed to remove the ‘Love Glove’ and procreate, as in God’s plan for the world to continue. She certainly knew of his criminal past and apparently believed in his ability to become a better man and not hold him to the mistakes of the past. The heart loves who it loves, but that certainly doesn’t mean she’s not a smart woman. Have you never forgiven the discrepancies or follies of your mate?
I agree with the latter part of your post that refers to Apollo since the blame for Apollo’s recurrence of crimes is squarely on his shoulders and has landed him right back where he deserves to be, but not at the cost of blame, hurt and humiliation of Phaedra and their handsome boys.

Its never too late! Phaedra is no saint. I know she was wondering how his money was coming in, she had to. Instead of helping her husband, she decided to add extra pressure. That lifestyle is hard to keeo up. Phaedra wanted the perfect life, in the end it cost her. Those two boys will be the death of her. Moving forward, I have to ask WAS IT WORTH IT? Lives are destroyed by GREED. Yet when the going gets tough, she filed for divorce, and abandoned her husband. Phaedra, didn’t take her vowels seriously.

Will we ever learn? I’m sorry for this man’s choices but glad he’s realized that participating in that modern day minstrel show, RHOA, because they paid premium dollars for ‘the help’ to misbehave true to stereotype and make the plantation owners at Bravo TV even richer. They pay well for buffoonery but was it worth it? They’re richer and two more innocent young black boys have to visit their Dad in jail but it’s also an opportunity to learn what’s really important and become a better man for himself and his family. Most of all, keep your personal business private and off the airwaves.

It seems as if some humans are always sorry after the fact——–I wonder why it didn’t occurr to him during the crime (maybe it did) maybe he feels like he deserve to be behind bars or theirs a side of him that has to go against the system of “DO THE RIGHT THING”…..PEACE!!!!!

At the end of the day this man knows his wrongs. He and only he has to answer to God and his family for him. This is not a murder case but it has garnered more attention than most. We as people need to stop glorifying these people lives on tv and understand they are only human just like everyone else. Loving God and self should be first and foremost in each and everyone of our lives. You don’t throw people away ; you pray for them and ask God to work in their lives. I am praying that somewhere in his future when he released again that he can be a productive member of society and a real father figure in his sons life. Even though the marriage is over I hope he and Phaedra can come to a good co-parenting arrangement. Many blessings go out to everyone.

I’m not going to judge this man. He has already gone through that with the justice system. He is taking his punishment like a man and going to prison. Phaedra Parks fell in love with him and I do believe they loved each other, just got caught up in the hoorah of RHOA.
They have beautiful children and I wish their entire family well.
Judging someone when your OWN house is not in order (even if it is), is not right. We are all human beings.

To Lacey Dadrey & CJ: Apollo was charged and convicted of a crime, not Phaedra! I’m certain the feds turned over every stone possible to try to connect her with any of his wrongdoings but found nothing. At what point do we as African American women begin to uplift each other rather than tear down? What has Phaedra done to allow you to believe that she is a fraud? Do you personally know her (no, I don’t either) or know of any fraudulent act that she’s committed (not the “he said/she said” unfounded gossip that you’ve read)? She had children with her husband and he happens to be a light skinned black man, or MAYBE since that’s what your thoughts are built on, she married the fine ass brother she fell in love with and you’re jealous it wasn’t you! I’ll bet a dollar to a bucket of ding-dongs, if he would’ve given you the time of day, you would’ve had yo’ draws in hand, just like Kenya. Shame on you for still spewing that “house nigga” mentality in 2014! Yassuh Bossman still got YOU down!

Her and him had history, she thought he may have changed he didn’t even with money. Some ppl are just in need of real rehabilitation, while incarceration. They don’t do this properly, they mix them all together to get the funding and give them certificates in the end and I’m being if you ask most of them whst the learned in the end most of them will tell you a year off my sentence!
