To say that Ray Rice, the Baltimore Ravens’ running back, is in deep trouble after a video appeared of him knocking unconscious his now-wife Janay Palmer in an elevator is understatement. After all, he has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Rice was charged with felony aggravated assαult but was later accepted into a pre-trial intervention program that managed to let him avoid serving jail time.

Now, Rice has found a “big brother” who was ready to give him advice on how to go about controlling his anger: Chris Brown.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, the 25-year-old singer talked about how he had learned to manage his anger after the 2009 assαult of Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time.

“To Ray, or anybody else … it’s all about how you control yourself,” he said. “I can just say I’ve been down that road. I deal with situations and I’ve made my mistakes too, but it’s all about how you push forward and how you control yourself.”

Chris also talked about the issues that he had struggled with in the past, “With me, I deal with a lot of anger issues from my past – not knowing how to express myself verbally and, at the same time, not knowing how to cope with my emotions and deal with them and understand what they are.”

He said that he had been learning to manage his anger with the help of bi-weekly therapy where he was being taught the way he should react and that it was good to feel this way “because feelings, emotions and energy are supposed to come and go.”

“It’s not supposed to stay there,” he said. “You’re not supposed to keep it inside because it will bottle up and you’ll become a monster.”

The security footage video of Rice knocking out Janay was recorded in February. A month later, the couple was married.
