Mom’s boyfriend accused of kidnapping/killing her 16-year old daughter

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest following an investigation into the case of Alexandria Cherry, a 16-year-old girl, who has been missing in the county since last week.
The suspect is Sanel Saint Simon, a longtime boyfriend of the missing girl’s mother. The 43-year-old has been put under custody following charges of providing false information to a law enforcement officer and the attempted destruction of evidence.
In Simon’s arrest affidavit, he has been accused of cleaning blood splatter in the girl’s home and also lying to detectives about his whereabouts on the day of her disappearance. At the time, he had said that he had been at Boston Market, where he worked, all of the day. When his employers managed to prove that he had in fact left at 09:30 a.m. on that particular Monday (without bothering to clock out), Simon recanted his story and admitted that he had left work early but said that he had spent the day in a plaza located nearby.
Deputies also said that Simon was the only person inside the apartment when it is thought that blood splatter in Chery’s room, the hallway and bathroom was cleaned up.
At 07:00 a.m. on the day of her disappearance Chery had told her mother, Rosalie Joseph, that she wasn’t feeling well and that she would be staying home. When Joseph tried on several occasions to contact her daughter she said she couldn’t reach her and that she eventually contacted the police.
When she got home at 06:00 p.m., Joseph said that she found her daughter’s room looking completely different from when she had last seen it. Almost all of her daughter’s belongings were gone and her bed, which is usually made, had been stripped. She also said that she found a pair of men’s underwear under her daughter’s bed where she added she detected an odor that indicated bleach might have been used.
Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said in a news conference, “We could be looking at a homicide. That’s not what we are saying… that’s the worst case scenario.”
Deputies are asking anyone who has information regarding the case to contact them. They also said that Simon was driving a black Pontiac and are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle in their neighborhood to come forward.

I will pray for his mother and her daughter. Praying is what’s needed in this world today. I am 60 years old and I grew up in the civil rights era. Back then at least you knew who your enemy was, now they appear in sheep’s clothing but in reality they are nothing but wolves. It is hard to know who to trust now days, that’s why I put all my trust in the Lord. I pray daily that he puts a hedge of protection around my family. I pray with my children before they leave my presence, I pray before I pull off in my car. Prayer is our only answer, because it is only the Lord that can truly protect us. I will pray that this child is still alive and can be found but it does not appear so. As for the mother, once again a woman’s desperation to have a man may have cost her a daughter! Women stop allowing any and everything in your home among your children just so you can have a penis, check the damn man out, I bet this guy has a record, I also bet he went back home to have sex with her daughter and when she refused, he killed her!

Ann – while I agree with you about women too often, bring men around their children too soon, the story did not say the woman had just met this man. He was supposed to be at work. Why would she think this man was with her child? This guy (allegedly) was a sick pedophile. Now, background checks are certainly a MUST when bringing a grown man around a minor child. Any man should expect that, and vice versa. There are some predatory women in this world also.
But, the woman is obviously distraught… Don’t start pointing the fingers when you don’t know the whole story.
I hope they find this child alive, but it seems doubtful. And if he did kill her.. HE should be killed also. THAT would be justice.

I was and still am so surprised at the women who let my son come to live with them without knowing anything about him. He meets them online, they need a car, apartment, job, those are his requirements, but they seem too only require that he be cute or fine and capable of the most stupid lies on earth. He has never meant any of them any good, yet if he wanted to he could do the same thing right now, maybe a little harder since he is getting older (almost fifty). be carefull sisters, keep strangers at arms length until they prove to you who they really are and what they are really after in a relationship. If there is a child (boy or girl) of any age teach them about being touched in the wrong way, make them more scared of not telling you then the perpetrator will try and make them if they do tell. don’t take any man for granted, not even their own father, uncle, grandad, no one, period.
