Mathew Knowles claims Beyonce/Jay-Z used the elevator fight to sell tickets

By  |  560 Comments

Staying in the spotlight is hard work and a 24 hour job.  Even big celebs like Beyonce and Jay-Z have had to work hard to master the art of keeping the public’s attention.  But no one ever suspected that the attention would be the result of direct manipulation of the public in order to make money and sell tickets.

It looks like Mathew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, is spilling the family beans.  According to Radar Online, Knowles did a recent interview with 104.1 KRBE in Houston shortly after the Carter family appeared on stage at the VMAs with Beyonce and Blue Ivy.   During the appearance, the crowd stood fascinated by the family’s living proof that they are doing fine and everything is OK.

But the appearance at the VMAs came after weeks of speculation that the family is on the brink of divorce, including reports that Beyonce had gotten a ring finger tattoo removed and was looking for her own apartment.

According to Mathew, all of this is a game called a “Jedi Mind Trick” to keep the public intrigued with the family and talking about them.

During the interview, Knowles noted that the trick seemed to have worked, since Beyonce and Jay-Z’s “On the Run” tour earned over $100 million dollars in ticket sales.   Mathew claims that the big elevator fight with Solange and Jay-Z was the start of it all and that they’ve done it before, because it works like a charm.  He says that these moves are designed to “ignite the tour.”

“I know, because we’ve done this. From experience, there’s a tour going on,” he said. “So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It’s called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot.”

Knowles was then asked if Beyonce and Jay-Z leaked the tape of the fight between Solange and Jay-Z themselves to get media attention.

He said, “All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200%!”

What do you think?  Is Mathew right or is he just being bitter?

Daddy Knowles is bitter and disloyal. This is why he has bad luck. Bey is doing just fine without you.

Matthew needs to mind his “biz”and take care of those b@stard babies that he’s got.

He’s right. It’s called publicity any way you can get it. It works and is done all the time.

I can’t believe that anyone would give this man any opportunity to say anything. He has no respect for his family and therefore has no relevance. Daddy needs to sit down, shut up, close his zipper and support his illegitimate children.

In the voice of of Ray Charles singing…..I believe, yes I believe……lol.

Your right Matthew might be bitter, unloyal etc, etc however he PUT her career together and was the MC of plenty of the Jedi Mind Tricks he speaks of……and besides…(the beehive camp) has been accused of such deception multiple times in the past.

He’s bitter and a sinner. If he hasn’t anything good to say, he should keep his mouth shut and take care of his baby,

Shes doing fine without him but lets not forget it was him who put her on the map. He knows what hes talking about and i believe every word he says. They played the public for fools. Ppl ate it up and now look, they just made another 100 million. Smh

MATTHEW KNOWLES APPEARS LIKE “A DROWNING MAN GRASPING FOR A STRAW FOR SURVIVAL!!!! HE IS INUNDATED WITH HIS “POOR JUDGEMENT ” ACTIONS AND APPARENTLY IN FINANCIAL DIRE STRAITS!!!! HE IS THE ONE WHO “NEEDS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE”!!!! UNFORTUNATELY, HE HAS CHOSEN TO TRY TO EXPOSE BEYONCÉ AND J AS “MAGICIANS OF THEIR CRAFT”!!!!! BEYONCÉ AND J ARE PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS AND ARE THE BEST AT ENTERTAINING THEIR FANS. GOD BLESS THEM!!!!

I’M NOT FEELING MR. KNOWLES AT ALL. I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY WOULD A FATHER TALK ABOUT HIS CHILDREN TO PRESS LIKE THAT? HE IS NOT PROTECTING THEM AT ALL. IF WHAT JAY-Z , BEYONCE, AND SOLANGE DID DO THE ‘ELEVATOR STUNT’ WHAT FUCKING BUSINESS IS IT OF HIS? HE IS STILL A PARENT(GRANDPARENT). HE DIDN’T ANNOUNCE TO PUBLIC ABOUT HIS CHILD OUT OF WEDLOCK, AND THE KID’S MOTHER GOING ON WELFARE. WHAT KIND OF MAN IS HE? HE SOUNDS LIKE HE IS HATING ON HIS CHILDREN. MY ADVICE TO JAY, B, AND SOLANGE….KEEP THAT MUTHAFUCKA AWAY FROM Y’ALL AND YOUR KIDS CAUSE HE’S NOT TRYING TO BE PROTECTIVE.

This man maybe correct about the accusations; however, he has enough crap going on with babies popping-up from women he slept with married and single. His daughter fired him for cheating on her mother, so as a little boy scorned.

Just think if his daughter made money or not his income will never be the same.

To quote Y. Nixon’s statement, “MATTHEW KNOWLES APPEARS LIKE “A DROWNING MAN GRASPING FOR A STRAW FOR SURVIVAL!!!!”

Personally, I think the images of Salonge kicking JZ’s Ass won’t go away (a total (embarrament) so this is just a desperate attempt
to get the public to believe that everything between the Moose and the Camel is Hunky Dorey!! What better way than to bring big Poppa into the mix. He needed money a good tradeoff B would agree to!

Maybe he is correct. They have done this before and it worked so why condemn the person who has done this before. We know that people will do just about anything for money and JZ knows how to make money.

Some people hate to hear the truth. Hate the messenger, not the message. As long as they (Beyonce & Jay Z) keep people speculating, their bank account will continue to overflow. What ever he did in his personal space, doesn’t take away from his business acumen.

Look what Father Knowles did was wrong but at the same time like Father Joe Jackson who made sure his children don’t suffered I feel that that people should not judge at least Father Knowles made his daughter and cousins big far as I am concern I not saying nothing bad about Father Knowles maybe he is telling the Truth maybe not but don’t judge the man Women and some men Wake up

I hope that this man does not think that his remarks will help him to mend his relationship with his daughter. He sounds pathetic and desperate for more attention. Instead of going public with the “Jedi mind tricks” he would appear a lot better by acknowledging, supporting, and being a REAL father to those babies that he has fathered. He is a MESS and his actions have caused his personal life to continue to take a nose dive.

I feel he is correct, even though I wouldn’t have gone to the concert for free.. this sells tickets! People are drawn into celebrity’s talent or no talent. Look at the millions of people who don’t have money..complain about people who have money, buy their cheap products/clothes, and some of these people have little talent, ie Kardashians! They follow them wherever they go!
Knowles maybe isn’t on good terms with his daughter, but I believe he knows the tricks of the trade. The elevator facade helped all of them become wealthier except the people buying the “mind trick”!

  21. Kim

    August 28, 2014 at 7:41 pm

He’s probably telling the truth that the Jedi mind trick exists. And maybe he’s even telling the truth that Beyonce, Jay-Z & Solange faked the fight to inflate sales. IDK? BUT HE ADMITTED TO DOING THE SAME THINGS! So when he was benefiting it was okay. HE’S HATING ON HIS OWN DAUGHTERS! BITTER BITTER BITTER

  22. wanda

    August 28, 2014 at 9:40 pm

Probably so.. It’s true that they’re (both Jay-Z and Beyonce) masters of promotion or at least their handlers are. But it’s kind of sad and doesn’t speak well of either of them as decent human beings that they’d go to such lengths to fake something as serious as a troubled marriage just to sell a tour? It would have been better and classier if they’d stuck to their original plan and said or did nothing to invite any speculation into their relationship. If what pops says is true, then I don’t have any respect for either of them.

Unfortunately, he has a point. He is a slob no doubt, however, the fight and the divorce rumors came at a rather convient time. Why in the world was that guy taping in the elevator! It seemed as though someone gave him a tip.

  24. kimberly

    August 28, 2014 at 11:37 pm

Daddy Knowles seriously should stay out of his daughters lives…really…he should focus on all of these woven coming out of the woodwork’s claiming that he fathered their children….worry less about beyonce and her marriage…look in the mirror and work on that project looking back Mr Knowles because lord knows as a man you sure could use a lot of improvement in that department.

  25. Deborah

    August 29, 2014 at 7:58 am

Evidently I am not the only one uncomfortable with Beyoncé’s father going to dish on his own daughter like this. First of all, you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to know that celebrities will do whatever they can to stay in the spotlight. That notwithstanding, I can’t see a credible motive for Mr. Knowles to come out and talk to the media about his daughter in this way. Was this with her consent? if so, then I have nothing further to say. But if not, then he needs to take a step back and ask himself what he is really trying to achieve with this interview.

Check the video out y’all, the headlining of this article is manipulative. He said that the divorce rumors were conjured up by Bey & Jay to sell the tour, not the elevator fight; Matt never even presented that situation to the mic, the radio disc jockey’s did. He never said no, he never said yes, but he never brought it up. The video is on YouTube.

    August 29, 2014 at 11:29 am

The elevator fight might have been real but they probably did leak it themselves to boost ticket sales. Not so far fetched with the Carters! They are all about money!! I also dont think they are in a happy marriage!

    August 30, 2014 at 2:36 am

_Personally I always felt that the divorce rumors were to boost sells. I also think that they love each other too. It would not surprise me one bit if we get announcement that they are expecting their second child..I read an article where Bey was saying that she fired her dad because she wanted and needed her DAD. She said it was very hard to be in the business with your family. We really don’t know the real skreal with this people and I totally think we should stop speculating. Because when all is said and done they are still just people…I know they’re labeled as celebrities but they are still just people…and they’re work is entertainment. So let’s keep that in mind while we are judging assuming and saying all kinds of UNgodly things about Bey and Jay…oh..and Blue Ivy too..just down right shameful….where’s the love people?

Who cares about what these people do, as Black Americans we have more pressing issues. Cops killing our people at will, our people using social media to expose to the world all the ignorance that is done in our homes. America has always judge us by what one person does. We need to be uplifting ourselfs instead of conspiring to this foolishness that these intertainers bring forth. But I know it’s not fun or profitable.

Whether it’s true or not doesn’t pay my bills or affect my life in any way so I don’t really care. What I do care about are the innocent children people keep mentioning-I.e “bastards”, “illegitimate children”. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with this article or that situation! GROWN folks, stop stooping so low as to bring INNOCENT CHILDREN into this! INNOCENT CHILDREN!
