Education Expert Says Black Kids Really Need To Be Home-schooled

Home-schooling can be beneficial to all children, but more so minority children than white children. Racism abounds at public schools and the students suffer because of it. Writer Antonio Buehler says that these are some standout reasons that black children should be home-schooled:
1. Black students are more segregated to lower performing schools than other races. There are 27,000 high schools in the country. 1,700 of those schools are deemed as the worst-performing schools in the country. One-third of the black high school student population attends these schools. These 1,700 schools produce 50% of the dropouts out of all 27,000 schools. The current dropout rate for black students in 51% and it is no wonder due to the schools that so many of them attend.
2. Private schools are not often an option. There are programs where students from lower income families can get scholarships and vouchers for the tuition at a private school, but the second that they enter the school they are one of very few poor children in a sea of rich kids.

Homeschooling in some situations can’t possibly the solution to most of the illequipped, unqualified broken homes… Its also sad while urban school were boarding up because of budget cuts and rural county schools argue over Michelle Obama’s healthy lunch menus… The thought of “taxation w/o representation comes to mind.., Where K-thru-12 in rural areas will benefit from public education and urban students at $18,000 each per year, -can’t learn just as well… there’s a scam..

There are pros and cons for homeschooling. Our kids need a more wholesome education that can only be given by our people. The public school system for one is to races.
The one thing our kids miss out on is the non-interaction from their peers….
So to succeed in homeschooling it would be best if we build our own school……

Just like Colleen, I would also like to home school my sons, but wonder if I am capable of doing so. I am also met with the pushback of a husband who would rather I work than to home school. It is disheartening because I know that this would be more beneficial to my sons than going to a public school would be. They are already socialized. So now I have to worry about them getting educated.

Elvord is so “right on.” Our children were the ones that lost out when the schools became mixed, where are our Black Teachers, this is who we need to teach our children, someone that knows where we have been also knows where we are going, White teachers are clueless when it comes to teaching our children! If our children open their mouths, to the White teachers they are starting trouble.
