Work! Idris Elba Joins New ‘King Arthur’ Film
Rumor has it that Pacific Rim’s Idris Elba is going to be joining Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur film!
According to The Hollywood Reporters, the name of the movie is going to be called, Knights of the Roundtable. While Elba won’t be playing Arthur himself, he desires to participate in the film as the character Bedivere, the right-hand man to Uther Pendragon.
According to Arthurian legend, Bedivere, is credited as a noble and loyal member of the King’s knights. Elba would rightfully be playing an older, wiser character who becomes young Arthur’s mentor, teaching him to lead an army and fight. As his father’s right-hand man, Bedivere‘s mission is to train Arthur in hopes that the boy will live his true destiny.
While Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Snatch) is creating the film, the script is written by Joby Harold (Awake, Edge of Tomorrow). The setting of the story is going to take place centering King Arthur and his legendary knights of the kingdom in Camelot. Elba has worked with Ritchie before in the movie, RocknRolla, which will make this a fun reunion.
