Yolanda Sangweni recently caught up with Sherri Shepherd during the 20th annual Essence Festival.  The two talked about what is next in Shepherd’s career.  Shepherd talks about the fact that she is exactly where God wants her to be and that she is excited to see what He has in store for her.  She indicates that it was God who let her know that her time on “The View” had come to an end.  Recent news reports indicate that Shepherd was fired along with fellow co-host Jenny McCarthy.

Shepherd goes on to talk about the doors that were opened by her appearing as a co-host on “The View.”  She mentions a movie she just finished filming with Chris Rock, a book she has just started, and the fact that she is working on contracts for two shows for which she will be the executive producer.  Shepherd also has a wig line that she has launched.  Shepherd drops a hint that she may also be appearing on a new season of the ABC show “Dancing With the Stars.”

Shepherd is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce battle with estranged husband Lamar Sally.  Whatever Shepherd’s future career plans are may play heavily into the ongoing saga as the two have a surrogate baby that is due anytime.  The baby belongs to Sally and the surrogate biologically, and Shepherd is alleging that Sally knew he was going to divorce her and the baby was simply a plot for him to rake in large sums of cash through child support payments.

Despite having a prenuptial agreement, Sally is requesting that it be thrown out so that he can potentially sue for spousal support as well.  It appears as though the issue of the surrogate baby and potential child support may be behind Shepherd’s decision to file for divorce in New Jersey, as the state’s laws do not recognize surrogacy agreements.  It will be interesting to see how the saga continues to unfold and if the divorce has any effect on Shepherd’s pending career moves.

It’s amazing how we bring God up in our ignorance. Do right by that child that you promised to take care of; life isn’t game. And, for all you black as, and selfish as women you keep encouraging her, because I know most of you ugly heart as woman only care about money. And, that’s why you will stay alone; stupid as!!!

Sherri signed papers so she is obligated to be a mother. Until the child is born, then she can either give up all parental rights to the father or give it up for adoption. But any other mother has to suffer through until the birth, rather you carry the baby or not. She made a choice early on.

I am just amazed at the love shown between Sherri & Sally for each other all the time through pics and video tapes over the years on The View. The wedding and family time photos. Sherri bragged all the time & praised Sal for his affection for she and her son Jeffery. Sal sometimes surprised her by showing up on the show for special occasions. Have these people been faking it all this time? I can’t feel bad for either of them but I do feel for her son and the new baby coming. Obviously, Sherri was over confident about Sal and the love they supposedly had. So much for opening up her life for all to “View” and suddenly there is no more time for Sherri and her place at the table, to enjoy “The View”, I don’t believe she should have to go through with surrogacy regardless of the agreement. That agreement should end with the divorce as well. The baby belongs to Sal not Sherri. She’s smart to file in Jersey.
