Arizona Charter School Textbook Says Slavery Was Good for Blacks

By  |  390 Comments

Most historians agree that the enslavement of Africans for profit remains one the darkest religious school.jpgperiods of American history. So why is an Arizona charter school teaching students that slavery actually benefited blacks?

According to a lawsuit against the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools by the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, two books used by charters in Arizona, The 5,000 Year Leap and The Making of America by Cleon Skousen, teach Christian fiction and racist nonsense.

University of Baltimore legal scholar Garrett Epps told the Arizona Republic that The Making of America by Skousen are inaccurate.

“Parts of his major textbook, ‘The Making of America,’ present a systematically racist view of the Civil War. … A long description of slavery in the book claims that the state (of slavery) was beneficial to African Americans and that Southern racism was caused by the ‘intrusion’ of northern abolitionists and advocates of equality for the freed slaves,” Epps said.

The organization reached out to the charter school’s board to raise concerns about the school’s teaching of debunked and outdated information.

“Reading the text of The 5,000 Year Leap easily demonstrates that the book does not merely acknowledge the influence of religion in the nation’s founding, but actively promotes and endorses specific religious views and ideologies,” reads a letter from the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State to the charter school’s board, according to the Huffington Post. “For example, the fifth of twenty-eight principles taught by the book is that ‘All Things Were Created by God, Therefore upon Him All Mankind are Equally Dependent, and to Him They are Equally Responsible.’”

Here’s a bit of what your child will learn if they’re assigned to read The Making of America.

“If pickaninnies ran naked it was generally from choice, and when the white boys had to put on shoes and go away to school they were likely to envy the freedom of their colored playmates.”

The home state of Senator John McCain & 1 of the last 2 states to
Recognize Dr. Martin Luther King Jr . Federal Holiday. It is a sparsely populated overwhelmingly “White” population. Given the xenophobic
Bent of Anglo Saxon culture of majority
Population of Arizona, any wonder such
actions are commonplace in this backdrop?

Slavery happen because it was prophesies by God because “WE” were disobedient to G-d/YHWH/ALLAH-G-d. Read Deuteronomy chapter 28 and in ACTS. CHILDREN OF Ysyrail . North America, South America , the Caribbean islands. Alex Haley gave us ROOTS, BUT YHWH Ben , Ben Amin and others gave US the travel plan on how we got to the WEST coast of Africa. Due to the Romans killing the Black Hebrews we were forced to go down into Africa and we ended up on the West coast of Africa and later brought to North America and South America/Caribbean. This is why slavery happen. I am Hebrew -Yisralite . Our history is the best world kept secret. NO MORE.

It almost seems like the African-American Communities in Nevada, New Mexico & Arizona have surrendered the fight & their dignity. It’s just wrong to evoke the name of John McCain, he has never demonstrated himself to be an racist or un-honorable man

History is being “revised.” White Southerners actually fought to free the slaves, and Jews benifitted from the Holocaust, and Native Americans actually sold their land to the Europeans, but are such poor records keepers.

WOW. JUST UNBELIEVABLE. THIS IS IGNORANCE PERSONIFIED !! As evidenced by some of these responses, Americans are some of the dumbest people on the planet. I just PRAY that GOD allows me to just sit in when some of these dummies have to face their creator! (by whatever name you choose.). White Americans have been teaching this dumb down history to justify their evil actions and their generational maintenance/retention of power & control. It is SICK, SICK, SICK,

Mad Max was being informative in a ‘John Stewart/Stephen Cobert’ kind of way, I’m sure. Nobody intelligent enough to write like that could possibly believe it. And, while I do not believe McCain is an all out racist, I do believe he is too cowardly to be the kind of leader this country needs. His acquiescence to the bigotry being displayed in Congress these days is testament to that. Nevertheless, regardless of our religious beliefs about whether or not the American Negro is the Nation of Israel of the Bible, I think we can all agree that American slavery was beneficial to no one except the people who made great profit from human misery. Those who engaged in it then, and justify it today, and rewrite history to mitigate the evil of its legacy should all be made to jump in a time machine, and emerge in the 18th and 19th century with dark skin, INVOLUNTARILY torn from their homes, families, languages, and cultures, stripped of all human dignity, reduced to a value of less than a horse, bred as livestock, beaten with bullwhips, mutilated, lynched, castrated, and set on fire as they hang from trees, and then come back to the 21st century and find that the United States of America has just elected its first white President, and Congress is obstructing HIM!!!!

When you enslave a people or a person you are taking away that person, persons or peoples’ sovereignty. This also applies to their offspring and their progenitor’s original expectations. A persons can not look forward to doing or feeling what he or she wants to do in this life. They must here after achieve their dreams in dream time. This is how so called Negroes have over come. in this life. GOD (ELOHIM, YHWH) punished us for being disobedient, but he is allowing us to come out of our punishment at this time. We must be aware as a people and care for each other. There is no Jesus his name is (YAHUSHUA).

If only black folk would accept the truth about slavery, then we could move on and start structuring our nation with in a nation! It was people who looked like our ancestors who, destroyed whole towns, raped, kidnapped and sold black africans to european capitalists! Are we, the descendents of these kidnapped people owed anything of compensation for this wrong? Lets recognize our enemies and deal accordingly with them! black americans must get off white Americas breast.

If you’re ignorant you will teach and display ignorance. Why are we focusing on them. We have a bigger problem with the people we pay to protect and serve. Our green money depreciates when coming from blacks, or are we being hoodwinked to think that they really don’t imprison the blacks and shoot and kill as much of them because they are really our best friends and are looking out for us.

If it was so beneficial to Blacks, then let’s try it out on White people. Let’s strip them of their name, family, language, religion, indepence, etc. Then let’s whip, beat, rape them; then have any that survived, tell us how good it was for them.

Funny. When I read some of these ridiculous comments posted by ignorant people, be it White or Black, I utterly amazed and in disbelief! First, White people will never fully admit what was done to two sets of people-Africans and Native Americans-was not only morally wrong but Biblical too! For them to come out on a national and world stage to admit it, forces them to take ownership of their ancestor’s wrong and to realize that they are furthering that wrong by what they are still doing today-especially toward African Americans! And second, some of our own Black brothers and sisters are poorly misinformed and clueless to the true history of our people! The Bible says “that My people perish for the lack of knowledge”…so a generation of Blacks are suffering because they don’t know and want to know the plight of of history because they refuse to invest the time or demand to the local, state and federal officials that the truth be taught to ALL CHILDREN about slavery and how it was designed to destroy a race of people because White men were afraid of the mental superiority we had as a gift from God! Sorry, it is what it is! So until people stand stand up and demand the true…this is what society, especially Blacks, will get! SMH! All it takes for evil to prevail (continuously) is for good people to say or do nothing! I have to do as the Bible says and what JESUS told us to as His disciples in this world, “Cry loud and spare not! Lift up your voice like a trumpet and show My people their transgressions and the House of Jacob (the Church) it’s sin!” And that’s what I and so many others are trying to do! WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! TIME IS RUNNING OUT FOR YOU GOD WILL NOT TARRY MUCH LONGER!

What you forget or didn’t know, the Amerikkkan Indian owned blacks as slaves as well. Read the history on the “Trail of Tears.”

Also G’d said in the Old Testament that “WE” aka Africans will go back to Egype in chains, which we did. Because we was so disobedient in worshipping many gods and especially Jesus.

These racists are getting the green light from the US Supreme Court who says it is now fashionable and acceptable to be a racist. If there is a problem just send it to us, the US Supreme Court, and we will justify your racism. America is changing when it comes to racism and with this US Supreme Court it is going in the wrong direction. Affirmative Action, Hobby Lobby and voting rights just to name a few racist judgements by this Republican controlled US Supreme Court. Hold on to your hats there is more to come.

I am tired of all this crap, racism was all about finance, and in large part still is,who gets to profit from the resources and gets the best of the resources. I would rather my people, the black people concentrate on loving, not only black people but the world, that is the power of Rastafari. Peace to all
