Modeling Agency Offers Sexy Felon $30K Per Month For ‘Hot Gangster’ Look

Blaze Modelz is hoping to pay Jeremy Meeks up to 30000 per month for his hot gangster look. www.naturallymoi.com

It’s understood in prison that many are looking for their next “hustle.” They swap notes with fellow inmates to come up with a better plan for making money on the streets than the one that landed them behind bars in the first place.

For some, that hustle means turning away from crime. For others, that means trying to return to crime and not get caught. For Jeremy Meeks, criminal-turned-social media flavor of the month, his new hustle may the easiest one yet, according to a story in The Daily Mail.

Meeks could make up to $30,000 a month as a high-end fashion model – if he gets out of prison any time soon, the Mail reported.

Meeks, 30, was booked on weapons and gang charges. Stockton, Calif. Police posted his mug shot to its Facebook page where it went viral, collecting nearly 100,000 “likes.” Comments praised his strong features, gangland tattoos, and striking blue eyes.

Now he is being eyed by modeling agencies including Blaze Modelz for his ‘hot gangster’ look, according to TMZ.

“The agency told the celebrity website that they could book Meeks for runway jobs and campaigns with exclusive designers such as Versace and Armani and he could earn between $15,000 and $30,000 a month,” the Mail reported.

The agency thinks the revealing teardrop is edgy and sexy, according to TMZ, which claims a rival agency that didn’t want to give its name is also pursuing Meeks.

Meeks is currently being held on $900,000 bail and is facing nearly a dozen felonies.

Meeks’ spouse and the mother of his 3-year-old son is upset by all the attention.

“She’s furious,” Meeks’ friend Simone Johnson told local news affiliates. “Her man is in there and people are taking it as a joke, thinking it’s funny talking about his looks, saying all kinds of crazy things.”

Finance Professor Dr. Boyce Watkins, a leading advocate to stop the mass incarceration crisis, says that Meeks’ story is one that reflects the state of America’s distraught prison system.

“All of the women fawning over this man should realize that there are a lot of appealing men locked away in prison,” said Dr. Watkins, who worked with hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and got 175 celebrities, including Will Smith, Jennifer Hudson and Jamie Foxx to sign an open letter to the president to address the incarceration crisis.  “For hundreds of thousands of black women, the man they would have married is locked behind bars in a system that spends more time keeping men away from their opportunities than it does rehabilitating them.  There’s no telling what kind of success this man would have had if he wasn’t behind bars right now.”

According to Dr. Watkins, a study recently showed that increases in the incarceration rate have led to drastic declines in the percentage of black women who get married.  He also says that it is linked to the spread of STDs and other problems which stem from the prison system.

“From what I understand, Meeks is no angel,” said Watkins.  “But there is no telling what this man might have been had he not grown up in a country that loves locking men up and throwing their lives away.  Some people make poor choices because we don’t give them very many options in the first place.”

Ree the (Ree)lationship Guide, writing for iDateDaily.com, seconds Dr. Watkins’ point about the way incarceration is affecting black women.

Meeks is just one of too many attractive Black men who have been fed through the mass incarceration funnel. This does not mean that Meeks does not deserve to be there, but it also doesn’t mean that there hasn’t been a concentrated effort to put him and a lot of other Black men there. Years ago, I’d encouraged Black women to take a greater stand in the fight against mass incarceration because I could foresee our dating pool shrinking to the point of non-existence. Don’t get me wrong, there are still some very fine and intelligent Black men who have never been inside a jail cell before. However, there’s  a scarce supply of them.

I can’t knock it. If he can get the gig, I congratulate him. Criminal or not, if it can help him become a more productive member of society, we should be happy for him. Personally, I’d rather for any brother to make an honest living instead of out selling dope or robbing people.

Totally agree with you! Hopefully, the offer(s) will still be there when he is freed, and he uses the opportunity to turn his life around.

I think this is horrendous!!! He is a criminal. Who’s to say when & if they book him that he won’t turn right around and screw up six months into his contract??? Oh and the tear drop tattoo originally stood for how many persons that individual has killed!!! Not such an attractive tattoo now is it?!?!

My only problem with this is not about Meeks. It’s about a company who I bet would otherwise turn down a person who’s a Felon and not even give him a look. Now we know that these Agencies hire Felons we should exploit that and get some other folks some jobs too. Now, let’s talk about the fact that he’s hot now making 15-30k a month, what happens when he’s not hot and gets dropped from the agency. How will he support his family then? He will become accustom to a certain lifestyle, won’t be able to provide and now what does he do, (possibly start back doing crime) They need to get some GOOOOOOOD people around this brother if he’s gonna get out soon so he can be really looked after.

All well and good however if he doesn’t want to change his life around and plays out a front, well then they will be supplying money to an individual that has street connections, basically funding this man’s criminal intent

Wait. So I have a college degree, have never been in trouble with the law, and work 50 hours a week at a job that hardly pays my rent. But this felon has employers offering him ridiculous amounts of money based on his mug shot?! WTF is wrong with our generation? People are so stupid. It makes me sick.

Tear drops don’t just mean someone has killed someone. Some stand for a lost loved one. Just saying.

    June 26, 2014 at 6:41 pm

I believe the tear drop tattoo means he killed someone or raped someone but never told anyone. I am told that is the meaning behind a tear drop tattoo lol. Besides, no high end fashion retailer would book a convict to rep their brand without thinking there would be any backlash. It’s bad PR and doesn’t make sense.

If you want to look at the “teardrop” tattoo about being about how many people a man has killed ( just an urban myth not all gangs represent that) then surely people such as George bush etc should be covered by them, yet you guys never had such a problem originally when he was in power.

Let the guy get on with it

In my honest opinion I believe it is an open door for sucess for this man although the publicity was uncalled for so I understand why the family was furious because when thousands of people who hear stories like this there are always going to be some who pass judgement not fully understanding the circumstances of the situation. So what the man looks like a gangsta, he may have been but as a African American male living a life full of struggle realistically any one from any race so…who can you judge? You dont know what this man has experienced, the tear drops are symbols for lost loved ones but what does that have to do with anything??? Yes he is handsome and yes he has made a few mistakes but who hasn’t??? People hate and discriminate because a black man who they lable as trouble has potential to become something WHAT???? there are plenty of famous celebrities who are felons even worse but because he is randomly chosen without expectation you people feel you have the power to judge ??? Only in America have I ever seen such hate that the people create because no one can stand seeing another move up. Why expect the worst of his situation ? I
Personally pray he does his time and the gig still is there or if they bond him out I pray he takes the job and thanks God for opening a door to a new beginning because he deserves it just like anyone else…dont be mad because it wasnt you, everybody has a time and a place when and where God opens a door for sucess….

All those criminals in jail are there for a reason. They all did something wrong or illegal to get there. It’s fine he has a job possibly but what’s the big fuss. Your suppose to work and try and better yourself and your family but let’s worry about that after he’s completed his jail sentence. You can’t look to free this guy on charges that may or may not have harmed innocent law abiding citizens. So big deal to this story and stop the unless shit you people call news and promote the good. BTW who gives a shit about what Russell Simmons did, does or wrote to our shit president about!!!!

Hey, the way society operates, why not, but after he does every single year, day, hour, minute, and second of his time. Ladies, if this guy somehow gets off without serving time and goes on to work the gig, I don’t want to hear anything about women being objectified and disrespected. Because, it will have been a direct result of the momentum created on the internet by women that, Jeremy, is in position. This presents the perfect opportunity for men and women to have honest discourse on a variety of issues, because one could argue that this defines the state of young black women today. Jeremy, black/light skin with blue eyes this makes him sexy beyond belief to black women (subconsciously they lust for the white man). Do we even need to begin on the layers psychological irregularities on display. This story makes me smile, but a smile is only an upside down frown. We need to tackle this.

This is what’s wrong with America. The guy takes one good picture, and he’s seen as a saint. Yes, his upbringing was bad and tragic or whatever. That doesn’t excuse him being involved in the sex trade and being a gang banger. He made his choices. He’s a piece of shit.

The outlook of this person is really disturbing. “There are too many black men incarcerated, our dating pool is shrinking because of it”. Don’t blame the system blame the fuckin parents. This bleeding heart bullshit is really getting old. If you really want the system overhauled so criminals can get out of prison because of their race you are part of the problem. If this was a white guy with Aryan tattoos nobody would give him a 2nd look. I don’t work overtime every week to have moral consciences that allow me to sympathize with people who have damned themselves. If you want to help out your people educate them and do better for them. Increasing the leniency of the laws only provides opportunity for more criminals.

As far as the teardrop tattoo goes, people need to do more research. There are several possible reasons for this tattoo. One is if they killed someone. The more popular reasons are they were raped in prison and the person who raped him claimed him as his bitch and tattoo the teardrop on him to claim the guy as his property. If this guy had been given a chance growing up this may have not been.his fate. If this modeling contract gets him.out of the life of crime, I see nothing wrong with giving a guy a chance. Better late than never. For those saying what if he breaks his contract, who cares? Have you never quit anything? Are you.perfect? This guy has a 3 year old son. Maybe this is the opportunity, wake up call, to give him the opportunity to be a good father.

My nonprofit works in underserved communities and I feel terrible about what’s happening with our youth. It really doesn’t matter what you look like in the grand scheme of things. Why are people getting so worked up about an excon getting an opp to get paid legitimately? GET A LIFE AND GET OVER IT. If he gets more time, he earned it. If he gets the gig, great; hope he has the mental capacity to play that game like a pro. If he fcuks it all up again…oh well. If we knew the past of every celebrity’s life (doctor, lawyer, teacher, preacher, model, actor, artist….) I’m sure we’d be shocked. This is nothing new. I’m curious to know how his ghettoassbabymama is feeling now with the prospect of a high paying job offer? This is not news. It’s fodder for gossip.

We need.not.to forget that this Man has committed crimes for which he must pay for, that being said, once he does his time or whatever the courts see as reasonable or what his attorney can bargain for By All Means give the man a job he’s gonna m need one he has a family.

I have WAY more than 2¢ to add to this, where do I begin?
First off to keep it simple, AFTER this man has served his time, if there is a legit job waiting for him that pays $30k a month fucking awesome!! I hope he swoops up on the opportunity n appreciates n recognizes jes how lucky he is. hopefully he doesnt fuck it off bcuz felon or not, easy come easy go for ANYBODY that has nothing all their lives n all of a sudden has that much money at their fingertips.
I give credit where credit is due, so let me point out that this man has done some pretty bad things to have earned a bail of almost a million dollars!!! Sum1 mentioned that human trafficking was amongst one of his 12 felony charges, and if thats true (I refuse to waste time pursuing or researching info about this ) I feel all bets shud be off. There’s a moral line that defines the difference between sum1 that made a mistake/bad choice (drug addiction, shoplifting, etc) and deserves a second chance in life to get rt, or the difference between sum1 that had a part in and profitted off the kidnapping, enslaving, and selling of women n children as sex slaves and shud rot in prison till he dies. Is this moral line so hard to see or follow?
And one more thing; this whole “the black man is so oppressed by white society” racial bulkshit is fuckin gettin kinda old. There is no whte american conspiracy to lock up all the black men-the good looking ones- , seriously for real! There r jes as many racist blk people that hate white people ( yes, its still racist ) I damn near choked when I read about all the good-looking blk men that r locked up, as if the system pics n chooses the good looking ones to keep them from being free.
Um hello! U do the crime u do the time, no matter what color u r.
