Man pretended to be TD Jakes and convinced a woman to give him thousands
A woman tells a scary story about how a man used Bishop Jakes’ likeness in order to swindle her out of quite a bit of money. Claudette Woodley says that someone friended her on Facebook claiming to be Bishop Jakes. The man also said that he would give her thousands of dollars in order to fix her furnace.
“I felt so good because it said Bishop James invited me as a friend! And that’s when I told him, I said ‘I love you,’” says Woodley.
The man then told the woman to wire the money to a location in Africa. She did so because she loves and trusts Bishop Jakes, but it turned out to be a complete scam. Now, Woodley is going around telling others to be careful about giving away money in the same way.

When I hear this kind of foolery, I just think to myself , we have to inquire into this mess, especially when they ask you to send something to Africa. I was first asked by someone pretending to be Bishop Noel Jones, I then called his church and gave the info and faxed over the text messages. I knew it was a scam when Africa came into the conversation . I was then sent a message from someone claiming to be Bishop John Guns, he tried his best , but GOD, said No Way, you will not take advantage of my child. I called the church and turned this one over as well, it was a scam , but at no time was money sent anywhere, especially Africa.

This is why it is very important to make sure that you have a faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Our faith is not build on the reputation of a man. God clearly says that He is no respecter of persons. Stop this old time religious mindset of following a particular minister or ministry (church). Grow up saints; and these kind of things will not occur in the body of Christ. This is pure foolishness! No judgment, just an observation. Any man asking you for money should always be highly suspicious to you! That’s not God. You show forth your obedience by your tithes, but there is suppose to be understanding behind your tithe offering!! Knowing why you are tithing makes the sacrifice of your tithe expectable to God. Its an act of worship and is your reasonable service. In all your getting, get understanding (its the principle thing!!). The children of God don’t follow after what’s popular, but what is true! And if you don’t have developed discernment, then get it!!! “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”. You learn that truth and develop discernment by constantly reading, studying and applying the word of God to your life each day! Scripture says, Be shrewd as snakes, but gentle as doves! You’re suppose to be a thinking Christian grounded in the Word of our God. The days of religion are over! God is looking for reliable men and women that He can trust His word too! Get it together saints. Redeem the time, for the days are evil! WE must read, study and apply the word of God to our lives and stop just going to church!!! The kingdom of God is not in a building or in the mouth per se of a certain individual,…..but, its suppose to be in your heart that we live it out!!! On that day their are going to be a lot of people who will say Lord, Lord and He will say “get ye away from me, I never knew you!” though they been in the CHURCH their whole lives. I just want to say “Thank You God” for the Teaching ministries you have established for the growing up of the saints, for now is the expectable time…….Help us to work out our salvation Oh God….We so need you in this last hour….prepare us Father for every level of grace you have planned for the sheep of your pasture! We need you Jesus, we pray for your mercy…..all these things in Jesus Holy Name, Amen!

Umm, those kinds of things do occur in the “body of Christ”. Only they call them preachers, and people flock to them weekly and give them their money. It doesn’t seem like a scam on the surface because you don’t have to wire any money. You just drop it in the offering bucket/plate.
Your “tithe money” does not have to go to a church! You don’t have to pay your pastor’s car note, and mortgage. (lol) There are plenty of needy people, probably not far from these churches.
Point#2: Many Christians DON’T think, they feel. I would just like to tap a few on the shoulder and say “Wake the *bleep* up!” That which you seek is in you. God is in you. Use your damn brain folks.

Give to your local church, any one that gives back to your community that way you won’t feel taken, and you’ll be a blessing, no church will tell you to wire money to another country . If they have foreign missions they will get what’s needed with your gifts and send/take to wherever. Just a common sense issue.
