Judge Allows Repeat Child-Molesting Pastor to Minister to Children Again

Darrell Gilyard (pictured), a preacher who has completed three years in prison after admitting to molesting one girl and sending inappropriate sëxual text messages to another is free again to preach to under 18-year-olds after a judge in Florida altered his probation terms.
Gilyard first hit the spotlight shortly after he was released from prison in December 2011. He started preaching at the Christ Tabernacle Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, after the church banned children from his services because it would violate his parole.
When news of the church’s decision got out, it started a media outburst which ended in the church agreeing to leave the fellowship of the Southern Baptist Convention regional affiliate after a visit from the Jacksonville Baptist Association.
However, a Florida judge appears to agree with the church to give Gilyard a second chance and has changed the terms of his probation agreement so that he may preach to those who had placed their trust in him before and been let down so despicably.
