Tyler Perry sues his producers for the fire that burned down his studio

Last year, Tyler Perry’s mega-million-dollar studio experienced a massive fire. Now, the actor, playwright and film mogul, most known for his gun-toting and fast-talking grandma character, Madea, is suing the producers of his sitcom “For Better Or Worse” for a total of $1.8 million. He is accusing them of negligence.
According to the lawsuit, Perry is putting the blame on lighting professionals, who he says should have been more competent and knowledgeable and known better than to place a white hot light too close to a back lot façade on the show’s set, which resulted in the devastating fire.
After a thorough investigation at the time, Atlanta’s Fire Chief Kelvin J. Cochran had determined that the devastation was so complete that the source of the blaze could not be found.
