NYC Politician Calls MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry a “Dαmned Dirty Ape”

By  |

A New York official who has plans to seek higher political office is under fire for lashing out at MSNBC pundit Melissa Harris-Perry.

Melissa Harris-Perry asks what difference will it make for Black Americans if President Obama is re-elected

After Harris-Perry tweeted about child rearing, Jim Coughlin, Dutchess County controller, inexplicably responded by telling Harris-Perry, “keep your stinking paws off my kid you dαmned dirty ape.”

Coughlin, a candidate for state senate, has since said that he had no idea that Harris-Perry was black and the insult was not intended to be racial.

“I don’t watch MSNBC,” he said. “I don’t know about their stories or their journalists.”

However, one wonders how Coughlin could’ve known enough about Harris-Perry’s political views to challenge them on Twitter without having ever seen her show or, at the very least, watched a commercial for her show.
Democrats were quick to criticize Coughlin for his out of bounds insult.

“This is irresponsible,” said Dutchess County legislator Gwen Johnson, a Democrat, according to the New York Daily News. “As an African-American woman, I find this very insulting and appalling.”

Johnson continued, saying even if Coughlin had no idea who Harris-Perry was, he should still be held responsible for his tweets.

“If you’re a public official and you’re running … you should know what you’re tweeting about and who you’re tweeting about.”

The Daily News also spoke to a Republican who took issue with Coughlin’s candidacy.
“Jim Coughlan is toxic,” said the Republican. “The Democrats are dying to run against him in November because they know he’s the best chance they have of keeping this seat in Democratic hands.”
MSNBC’s Melissa-Harris Perry rankled some Republicans by calling for more government spending on education and saying that kids belong to “whole communities” and not just families.

When Martin Bashir made a comment about Sarah Palin he was forced to QUIT his career with MSNBC.

I was rooting for him because Sarah Palin has made so many inappropriate comments even to the point of mapping out certain states and saying re-load or retreat and then Gabrielle Gifford as well as several other innocent people lives were taken by a mentally ill person that listened to her message.

Sarah Palin has always made stupid, ignorant comments and continues to do so. Just recently I saw her on CNN and there she was again STUPID coming out of her mouth.

Just think if she had made it to the VP position..what a laughing stock the US would be. I cannot believe anyone with any common nonsense even thought about her. Were you so blind as to just seeing an attractive face. There are many of those out there. Kim Kardashian should have been one of the contenders and you would have face and body.

Thank John McCain for the train wreck…We could not have done it without his help.

The racist who keep saying they are not racist, because they have a black friend, don’t believe that anymore, because a black man has pass his place and is now in the White House and, is the President of the United State of America!!

WOW, after reading her and hearing her in these few years….I’m confuse, why are people trying to defend her. She’s not a Black middle class inarticulate “Ape?”

Perhaps you should consider learning how to write an intelligible English sentence before referring to someone like Harris-Perry as “inarticulate,” let alone an “ape.”
