Monifah’s Daughter Does Not Approve Her Mother’s Lifestyle

It is public knowledge that R&B singer Monifah is an openly gay woman. In her new show on TV One, R&B Divas, the 43 year old documents her life with her live-in girlfriend Terez. And while everyone around the soul-singer is supportive of her newly revealed lifestyle, there is one person who doesn’t agree with her lesbian relationship—her daughter.
In a recent interview with Sister2Sister Magazine, Monifah spoke candidly on how her lifestyle is bothersome to her twenty-two-year-old daughter. She explained that her daughter has deep Christian beliefs and hasn’t “fully experienced life yet.”
Despite her daughter’s objection to her lifestyle, Monifah states, “I had to just be a parent and be an example of the human being that I’d like her to be.”
She further stated, “It’s her personal stuff. We respect one another and we love each other though. I respect her, but she’s not the ruler.”
Some fans were shocked to learn that Monifah was a lesbian, although she says she really never tried to hide that fact—she just wasn’t “open with it” as she is now. She said, “It was a different time. The 90’s weren’t ready.”
During season two finale of R&B Divas, Terez proposed to Monifah when they took a day trip to Terez’s hometown of Chattanooga, Tenn. In that episode, Monifah asked Terez if she could move to Atlanta with her, and Terez, to everyone’s surprise, pulled out a black box and stated that she would not move to Atlanta as her woman but as her wife.
Although her daughter doesn’t approve of her union with Terez, the two still plan on marrying each other, which will be documented on the show.
Monifah, a protégé of the late, great Heavy D, gained fame with her classic hits “I Still Love You” and “Touch It.”

It appears that Monifah believes that anyone who embraces Christians principles – like her daughter – “has not fully experienced life yet”. I don’t think that we need Monifah to give us her version of “life more abundantly”.
“Should Monifah’s daughter accept her mother’s lifestyle?” Y’all get your Bibles and read Romans 1:18-32 and let the Lord answer that question!
Christians should, can, and do love the sinner but not the sin. Loving the sinner, however, does not mean that the Christian approves of the sin.
Despite Monifah’s sinful lifestyle, her daughter must still honor and show love and respect for her mother. That’s God’s law, too. But the primary responsibility and focus of every Christian must be to love and obey God first. Therefore, the Christian must never condone sin.

we have lost the meaning of shame,integrity and solace. We have intoxicated our personality with creative fame & false stardom where morality have fluctuated much like paper currency and manipulative commodities. Just as we’ve change the mode of business & transactions we have corrupt our morality. Sexuality is not as religious as it is natural,therefore ones fight for religious freedom shouldn’t be restricted to sexual modesty & discipline. Clearly sexual freedoms bordering on beastiality seems more a given that the right to Racial equality of person and its has dominate moreover hijack the discourse of far urgent RIGHTS.
The Right to humanity and the Right to peace & the prohibition of war, the right to racial equality and restoration to indigenous peoples land livelihood and customs.
It is time to drop the religious argument as there is sufficient scientific medical evidence (proof) against this dastardly behaviour…Yes BEHAVIOUR.

Seems like the daughter has more sense than the mother,what gets me steamed is that if this woman is a lesbian now why in the hell did she have a daughter with a man to begin with? Why cause all this confusion and possible resentment with the daughter now? Pretty selfish and messed up.
