In an interview with the magazine bearing her name, Oprah Winfrey says she is energetic and enthused about her current work with no sign of slowing down despite turning 60 in January.

“I’m not one to get hung up on numbers, but if you want to say 60 is the new 40, I’ll take that,” Oprah told O Magazine. “You can be and do whatever you want, thanks to exercise and hair color. Hair color. The greatest invention of all time for women. Thank you, Miss Clairol,” she added.

It’s been a strong comeback for Winfrey whose network struggled with poor ratings after its launch. The Oprah Winfrey Network established its second-best quarter ever, according to a report in The Grio.

OWN is the first, and still only, network to be established by single individual. Winfrey launched OWN after a quarter-of-a century of dominance as an inspiration day-time talk show host.

Oprah’s mega-deal with movie mogul Tyler Perry certainly helped. Perry’s drama series “The Haves and the Have Nots,” produced for OWN had five different episodes that attracted more than three million viewers.

“The Haves and the Have Nots” is also the top original series on all of TV for African-American women on Tuesday nights, The Grio reported.

OWN reality shows that star Lindsey Lohan and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders are also in the lineup.

Oprah has also taken a more active role politically in recent years and continues to make a significant impact through her charitable organizations.

“The absolute best part is being able to be free and do whatever you want. There’s nothing better than that,” she said. “The hardest part is really recognizing the time that you’ve wasted and the things that you worried about that really didn’t matter. You regret the time that was wasted.”
