Kentucky Beauty Queen Admits ‘I am queer’

The Former Miss Kentucky, Djuan Trent, has announced that she is `Queer.’ She won the title back in 2010, and then she went on to compete for Miss America in 2011.  Trent, 27, is the first national pageant contestant to come out as a lesbian. She came out of the closet by posting how she felt on her blog.

“I have written and re-written and deleted and restarted this post more times than I care to share,” she wrote, “and after all of that I have finally realized: ‘There ain’t nothin’ to it, but to do it.’ So, here we go folks …,” she continued. “I am queer,” said Trent.

Her post also suggests that she has been dealing with her decision to come out as gay for a while. She was prompted by the recent gay marriage struggle in Kentucky to be true to her stance and lifestyle decision.

“People can’t know that their best friend, brother, sister, co-worker, neighbor, news anchor, favorite singer, or local coffee shop barista is being oppressed and denied the rights in which their heterosexual counterparts [that] are so happily welcomed partake, unless you open your mouth and say it,” Trent wrote.

Ellen Page that talked about her decision to come out encouraged Trent to make her announcement. The blog post that Trent wrote also covered her three goals for making this decision to announce her stance which is to declare self-liberation, inspiration, and awareness.

“Listening to her speech, I was able to relate on so many levels,” Trent wrote. “But this is what really hit me: ‘I am tired of lying by omission…’ Girl, what?! For real! Lying by omission and using non-descript pronouns … that gets really old, really quick.”

Now that she has cleared her hidden secrets, she can live out loud.  Trent said that she is encouraged by the validation that she has received from her supporters.

Her PARENTS probably are very PROUD of their CHILD, and ? Not everyone like you are a shamed of their CHILDREN becuz our children may not grow-up in the way we like. This GAY WOMAN has archived many things favourably with a NICE resume’.. so get a cLUE -one’s sexual prefence do not- DO NOT define the success of that person; so GROW up and be proud of your children(if you’re to have any) REGARDLESS whom they may be as long as no laws ore being BROKEN,

..and I DOUBT she used the word QUEER either, since Queer is a SLUR used mainly by discriminating heterosexuals…whom has a problem with PROUD homosexuals..and AMERICA new millionaires as married gays..increasing in large percent, while y’all hater staying POOR pointing the finger living glass houses..smh..

Actually “Queer” is the LBGQT community’s word of choice to describe themselves and/or their lifestyle.

Ms Trent, will you be as bold and as eager to push your immoral life decisions in the face of your maker? You are to be denied eternal life in heaven if you continue your walk against nature.

Why did her maker make her gay, then deny her an intro into his big house in the sky, If he is the maker as you stated (remember we all know what maker means).

When someone is born blind, down syndrome, cripple, child hood cancer, twins, triplet, WELL THAT THE LORD WILL. When someone is born gay, loowdy loowdy loowdy.

Being born gay is like being for abortion. Lucky for you your parents didn’t feel that way.

If someone believe in science, and read that some people or born intersex (both male and female organs)or see that someone is born blind, extra finger, missing limbs,or read about it, you some how equate this to supporting abortion, what a reach.

I believe that people are born gay, if you believe whom ever is in charge of making bodies or body part make mistake, some times but never when they are making sexual part that you.

THE real mystery is IF GOD is creating SOULS to implant into bodies here, then WHY do some bodies get hetero souls and some bodies get homo / lesbian souls??? OTHERWISE one has to BLAME THE PARENTS for CREATING a “GAY PERSON” AFTER THEY ARE BORN!!! SO don’t blame the gay person, BLAME THE PARENTS!!!! IT IS ALL THEIR FAULT as it is only hetero people then who are MAKING QUEERS of either sex!!!!!!! GOD has NOTHING to do with it in that case!! Otherwise, you ain’t got nobody to blame for the outcome except GOD or the PARENTS…. and to go down the blaming road to say that IT is GOD’S fault, I don’t think you really want to go around BLAMING GOD for any thing that happens!! THAT puts YOU on the WRONG side of GOD’S equation, REAL FAST!!!!!!!!

What if their beliefs are not of the Christian faith, or is that the only faith you think exist on this planet? I’m Kemetian, not Christian, and follow the NGUZU SABA. Ever heard of Transformation? Too deep to get into. Point is we are all not Christians, so as she believes is her business. Make sure u get in your “Big House”, Hotep.

Nguza Saba? you might have notice my last name is Sukumu, I responded to that person–LENO–comment about heaven which I referred to as the big house.

I taught this was an open forum to express views, as you just did. I think Maulana Karenga would agree with my right to do so.

If LENO is not christian, his, her comment come from one of those DESSERT RELIGIONS, they are the one’s that might use the term heaven, in that manner. About the NGUZA SABA oh never mind.

GOD only made MALE ANGELS….. they knew/ know all abt. SEX…. they came down here to have some too, w/ a few FEMALES and THAT made GOD real mad!!! So having “left their former state” which since they knew all abt. SEX must mean that THEY were really sexing it up before GOD made HUMANS….. God just did not want them messing with the SECOND creation in that way…… BY ONLY making MALE ANGELS for Heaven, then SEX between MALE ANGELS must NOT have been so bad…… other wise GOD would not have gotten so upset, so LATE in the creating process!!!!!!

@ vernon sukumu what she really want to say is SHE’S ON THE DOWN LOW”, but the media isn’t ready to go that far so they blame it on the Gays.

She already won the title a couple of years ago, so why is it necessary to “come out” now? Because she used up her 15 min of fame and thought maybe she could capitalize on what she does with her sexual organs to get back in the spotlight? Since the 2 black athletes made their announcement & everybody fell all over themselves to congratulate them on their bedroom behavior, maybe she wanted to jump on the bandwagon.

Maybe hoping for a call from the White House; a Tweet from MO?

I wonder why the media never give special recognition to Black people, especially young Blacks, who’ve done major achievements like inventions, graduating from universities when other kids would be getting out of elementary school? I wonder if the White House calls them; if MO gives a Tweet? And if they do, why isn’t that plastered over the news & blaring from every outlet?

Ever wonder why most major sports are overflowing with Black athletes, but the colleges & universities are not filled with Black students that are prepared to actually GRADUATE? Ever wonder why the doors to athletes are flung open but the cultivating of Black scientists, inventors, mathematicians & other highly skilled professions come through in a trickle? If not, then you should…

Again, we’re reduced to our sexual parts or physical prowess, calling that “Bravery”! Instead of being lauded on intellectual/academic achievements, we’re back to the same BS slavemasters prized: “My buck or gal cain’t read nor write, but they got plenty of sexuality!”

Poor education, high unemployment, dismal economic outlook, but let’s keep their eyes on the prize “package”! And we fall right in step, “Yes, they ARE brave!” SMH…12 years a Slave…yeah right.

I am not God and neither is anyone else here on earth therefore it is none of our business, if it is wrong, it is between them and our heavenly father. Judge not! or you just might be judged! I don’t worry about the gays like I do the person in the pulpit and the one sitting next to me in Church or my next door neighbor who is a pedophile! Let the one without sin cast the first stone! Don’t guess there will be any stone throwing!

In the world of reality, why is this important a beauty contestant comes out gay. As a beauty contestant she’s just the decorations of a non-existent Christmas tree. I’m not sure why we are asked to take this serous as an act of liberation????

I think it eliminates a lot of awkwardness when people try to set you up with the opposite sex and you know that you are holding something in about your sexuality. It would finally wear you down to keep saying “I’m to busy to go out…” So, speaking up is necessary.

    March 10, 2014 at 10:36 am

@ Sekou: Exactly! This is what PT B (Powers That Be) want us (and the entire world) to focus on–the flesh–not the spirit. Real Liberation comes in developing the spirit; that’s where real power is, and that is where we USED to have the advantage as a people. When our personal/communal spiritual focus slipped, we lost grip on the prize.

That other stuff is a smoke screen & distraction: We are more SEXUALLY FREE than ever before, but disproportionately have more abortions, more babies born out-of-wedlock, less personal wealth than others, etc.

I wish Christians would learn to “…rightly divide the word of truth”, because you can’t speak on judgment & sin if you take scripture out of context. According to your interpretation why do you worry about the pulpit, the pew or the pedophile? That’s still judging sin & no one is supposed to judge, right? No…that CAN’T make sense, even to you.

I’m sick and tired of GAY,LESBIAN,and QUEERS also for getting support for coming out that you’re gay…WHO CARES!!!!! I think you all should be killed and wiped off the face of this earth because God made Adam & Eve not “Adam & Steve” post this on your blogs.
