Armed Men Allegedly Carjack Pregnant Woman in Labor

A Maryland woman who was in labor and headed to the hospital to deliver her child got the shock of her carjackinglife when she and her boyfriend were allegedly carjacked by three armed men.

Police in Annapolis, Md. allege that two men were taken into custody and they were seeking a third man after the carjacking.

Even though police could not confirm the woman’s name, they did confirm that she was taken to the hospital after the incident.

Police say the carjacking took place at around 4:30am on Monday when the 24 year old pregnant woman and her boyfriend were approached by two men with a sho†gun and one man with a handgun as they were getting inside the car.

Two of the men took off  in the couple’s car when two police officers responding to an emergency call arrived at the scene. Police caught the men after they dumped the car and fled on foot.

Officers pursued the vehicle to Tyler Ct where the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.  During the chase the suspects threw a gun from the vehicle which was recovered by officers.  A shotgun was recovered a short time later and is also believed to have been thrown from the vehicle.  After a brief foot chase both the driver and the passenger were arrested.  

Police have charged Devery Kelley, 24, and Cornell Robinson, 44, with armed robbery, first degree assault and various weapon violations.

The men are being held on $250,000 bond.
