Terrell Owens’ New Wife Tries To Kill Herself

Is it me or does it seem that  ex-pro footballer Terrell Owens’ life has been plagued with drama? In the last couple of years, this man has moved from flamboyant, arrogant, highly sought after to become a broken man. First, he was dropped from his NFL contract. Next, he appeared on the Dr. Phil show and was labeled a “dead beat dad,” which was made mention of on his brief reality show. Simultaneously, we see multiple reports emerge about severe money troubles. However, just when you think it can’t get worse for the guy, it has now come to light that his bride of only two weeks has tried to take her own life.

Terrell’s new bride, as reported by TMZ Sports, Rachel Snider Owens was driven to suicide by a “broken heart.”

Despite the fact that the two have only been married for two weeks, reports began to surface as early as last week that the marriage was in trouble. Sources close to Snider claim that she felt  Terrell married her so that he could secure a loan on a $2 million home in California. That sounds fishy for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, how does a postal worker, not that they don’t make good money, help secure the funds for a $2 million house? Moreover, why would the new Mrs.Owens sign as a guarantor on a loan for a man who the world knows is having severe financial problems?

Then again, she could come from a family with money, which is a strong possibility.  This might explain a lot.

It seems that Mrs. Snider Owens has found either a cathartic release on Twitter or a way to get her own five minutes of fame. Whatever the case, she shares some pretty personal, yet subliminal tweets about her marriage:

I know ppl laff and think it’s a joke about our seperation. But this was our first marriage for both. I would’ve done anything to work it out.

I will love Terell always and forever. He is a wonderful athlete, father, friend and brother in Christ. I will never regret saying I do.

I will not bash him on Twitter or any other forum. He has children and family. What needs to be said will be said in court.

Not to minimize the serious nature of Mrs. Snider Owens’ depression or suicide attempt, but this all seems really weird. If in fact you would do anything to “work it out,” why not seek counseling instead of telling your business on Twitter? Secondly, how can you only stay married to someone for two weeks that you say you’ll love ‘always and forever?’ Lastly, if you’re intent is not to bash him on Twitter, why tweet these messages, which suggest that “he is the problem.” (Sidenote: what happened to the honeymoon period?)

This is not about bashing Owen’s new wife or trying to discredit her; it seems pretty obvious that this brother is pretty hard to deal with as illustrated in his t.v. show, various reports in the media and his firing from the league. However, it just seems that there are some obvious issues with this ordeal that are not being discussed.

When HipHollywood.com caught up with Terrell at the premier of Kevin Hart’s new movie, About Last Night, he artfully dodged the questions about the doomed state of his nuptials by sayig that “I can’t worry about what everybody else thinks or any allegations.” I hope that Terrell can get his life together because Iyanla’s ‘fix’ didn’t seem to help.

When Black men get money, they need to marry for love, not race.

I think I would consider suicide also if I had to scrape for the rent and live off food stamps. Why do these women marry losers?? He’s not even handsome.

You don’t marry anyone just for looks; that’s why it’s so many divorces. Come on people grow up.

They both deserve each other. One is a blind monkey and the other is a sucker for a jack rabbit.

There is probably a bit of truth in what has been stated by all responders. However, ‘if you want to be happy for the rest of your life get a ugly woman/man, to be your partner in life.’

Some people get married for the wrong reason(s). Money and fame can not buy you love and happiness.
