Kerry Washington Celebrates Baby Shower With Friends & Family

Emmy-nominated actress, Kerry Washington was flooded with star love at her backyard baby shower on Sunday at the home of Shonda Rhimes.  Rhimes, writer and producer known for Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, hosted the baby shower for the star of Scandal in the backyard of her Hancock Park home.

Jane Fonda and the costar of Scandal, Darby Stanchfield along with 50 other guest attended her baby welcoming event.

The guest list was strictly enforced by the security guards and valets with the guest arriving around 11.a.m, according to eyewitness accounts. As the guest arrived with gifts, for the 36 year old actress, the presentation of the well wrapped gifts were noticed with a pricy eye. The reports stated that the gifts were wrapped in pastels colors that included tons of baby cloths, stuffed animals and other gift mixtures.

Washington, who is currently married to Nnamdi Asomugha since the 24th of June, arrived at the baby shower in a blue dress stepping out of her black Mercedes around 11:15 a.m.

“She looked beautiful and had very little make-up on,” the source continued. “She was with her mom Valerie and was met by several family members inside.”

The beautiful garden party was set up in a tent next to the pool. There were bartenders that served drinks, while Washington received toast welcoming her new baby from her family and friends.

“Kerry looked ecstatic to be surrounded by so many family members and finds,” the source said. “She loved mixing her work fiends with her family and having everyone get to know each other. Shonda was very gracious to host everyone and Kerry was very appreciative.”

Around 3 p.m. the party closed out with Washington staying late to talk with Rhimes and her family. Fonda blogged about her experience at the baby shower later that day, describing Washington as “radiant.”
