Struggling Waitress Gets A Massive TipBy Dr. Sinclair Grey III

Call it a blessing or a miracle, Khadijah Muhammad is smiling all over because of the tip she received from a customer that helped her in her time of need.

Muhammad, a waitress at Cheddar’s in Knoxville, Tennessee was suffering financially with bills overdue and receiving last minute cut-off notices. On top of that, she received word that her mother suffered a heart attack earlier this month.

She left work and drove to Ohio in the middle of a storm to be with her mother. She was able to see her and thankfully, her mother made it through. After spending time with her mother, it was time to head back to Tennessee. In driving back, she knew the reality of facing bills because she had taken time off work for several days.

It was Wednesday and Muhammad’s day began relatively slow. She served a few tables, had some good conversations, and went about her business as usual. One particular table she waited on consisted of a husband, wife, and a small child. Nothing would arrest your spirit about them. Their bill came to $29.30.

When Muhammad came to collect the check, the receipt was turned over and the tip amount was $1,075. That’s right; the tip was $1,075. It included a note, which read, “Jesus Blessed us and we were led to give it to you. God Bless!” Muhammad, in shock, had no idea who the tippers were or where they came from.

As you can imagine, Muhammad is still glowing about what transpired. She wondered how they came up with that figure – if it had some significance to them. No matter what, Muhammad thanks them for their generosity and hopes to do two things – see them again to thank them and be able to do what was done to her for somebody else.
