Sherri Shepherd Keeps Apologizing To The Gay Community

Sherri Shepherd of ‘The View’ had to eat her word this week when she ended up apologizing for a statement she made about homosexuals last week.  During an interview with Alicia Menendez of Fusion, Sherri allegedly made anti-gay remarks.  However, Sherri stated that the media misconstrued her original comments.  Sherri apologized with,

‘Working on a talk show that’s centered in the opinion business, there have been several things that I’ve shared in the press that have upset people, and typically I don’t respond to the criticism.  However, I’d like to say I’m truly sorry to anyone I’ve offended with the viewpoints I expressed on ‘Alicia Menendez Tonight’ on the Fusion network.  My interview was misrepresented, and only a portion of my comments were used as a headline to give the impression that I was condemning members of the LGBT community living in their own truth.  In the interview, I express I was raised as a child to have a certain set of beliefs, but my beliefs have evolved significantly as my own personal relationship with Christ has increased.  You grow up being a Christian and you grow up believing homosexuality is a sin; you’re going to hell if you’re a homosexual.  This is something that they teach in churches.  So it’s something that I grew up believing.  I might not agree with your lifestyle, but I love you.  You may not agree with my lifestyle, but you love me.’

There have been many celebrities who voiced their opinion on controversial and sensitive issues like the subject of homosexuality.  Although the First Amendment affords Americans the freedom of expression, there is a price to pay when statements are made that are offensive to groups of individuals.  Wonder if Sherri Sheppard will pay a price for her comment about the LBGT community?

Why is it that whenever comments about gays are made, it is always you better not say that! Why not, people are in titled to say what ever they choose!
If something negative is said concerning blacks, than we need to get over it! Really!
    Move on people ..

Sherri is so full of it. She said that she is born again. I thought that so called born again christians don’t believe that homosexuality is a sin. Before Sherri became saved she had so many abortions. The church is the last institution to judge anyone.

Is she judging by saying I may not agree with the gay lifestyle? What is it with the gay community that everybody who disagrees with their preference’s is wrong? Isn’t it ok to disagree without malice or hate? But it seems the community hates anybody who disagree’s with what they do? You cannot force me to like what you do just like I can’t force you. To agree or disagree respectfully is what is key here.

As Christians we believe that it is a sin, based on God’s Word, plain and simple, however, that does not give us the right to be hateful or judgemental. Everybody does not have the same beliefs as we do but they are entitled to the same rights we have, so saying what you were though about something doesn’t make you a basher or #omophobic.#omo$exuality is frowned upon in every religion since the beginning of time, it’s only when someone says I’m a Christian and disagrees with the lifestyle, everyone wants their head. We can live together lovingly, while agreeing to disagree on that issue, because in reality nobody cares who sleeps with whom as long as it’s not my partner.

As Christians, Gods word are but allegorical, mythological tales used to teach morals; the author of those many of those biblical books are unknown and written many years after the supposed death of Jesus. There is also no actual absolute evidence that Jesus even existed as well. Religion is or has become a Culture can be transcended because it is based upon collective agreement. It is not something that has absolute authority. Gods word is MANS WORD and man is contradictory, fickle, and egotistic (just like god is portrayed in the bible). So go figure. Christians are sounding more and more like a joke– uneducated and SOS stuck on stupid. Homosexuality is not any more of a life style then or being black or Christian is a life style. WTF is a life style? Stop trying to sound so self righteous and intelligent and START READING AND THINKING CRITICALLY AND USING CREDIBLE SOURCES that will evolve your ratchet way of thinking.

Thank you for that. Finally someone who thinks critically and does the research. I wish more people did that. I understand how difficult it may be to let go of something that’s been spoon fed since birth but I have never understood how any intelligent, rational person, capable of reading and grasping scientific and historical data, could ever take the Bible or Christ story seriously.

Did any of you Christians see 12 Years A Slave?

That is your reality. Your slave-masters taught you your religion!

Dawg Martin Delany are you really so shallow?
So the slave master’s taught blacks religion? Is that the same religion that inspired the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and the reverend Dr. Martin Luther King to organize the civil rights movement?
Regardless of who YOU think taught blacks religion, you owe the fact that you can speak your mind, go where you please are free and not swinging from some tree somewhere to the truth that somebody believed in the power of God, religion and the church used that faith to give you the life you can have in America today.
Does it matter where YOU think it comes from or should you look around and realize how people of faith have bettered your worthless life.
So you watched one movie and now you got the whole universe figured out. There’s more you don’t know then there is you do know.
As Africans faith has been a part of our culture always. Some, much more educated than you, would argue that by giving blacks Christanity slave masters were returning something that was already there. Moses (the old testament) led his people out of Egypt- that’s in Africa you know? The angel told Mary and Joseph (Mariam and Yosef) to run to Egypt (Africa) with the baby Jesus.
But you watched your movie and now you say whites “taught” blacks their religion. Look in the mirror and tell me how many fools you really see.

I am almost embarrassed by responding to someone like you but I will share a few thoughts. First, study the history of my namesake and F. Douglass and you will get a real education. Secondly, the SCLC and what we (you) think of as progress within the Black community is laughable. We (Blacks) are so far removed from reality, it will be millennia before we begin to correct the misguided journey taken during reconstruction. And finally, your state of denial is perpetuated by your inability to think independently. FYI my education does not come from Hollywood. I actually read books other than the bible. Do you know the history of your bible?

First of all STOP APOLOGIZING FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE!! Im sick and tired ofchristians or so called christians apologizing for what they believe. Stand firm in your beliefs! Homosexuality is a sin plain and simple! If you die in your sinful nature and dont repent you are going to hell! Whether you believe that or not thats your right not to. But there are those of us that believe in and rely upon the word of GOD and we dont need to apologize for that!

Here’s a black woman that said the word n_gg_r is a term of endearment and offered no aplogiezes to black people for it. Her jewish boss Barbara Walters used the word n_gg_r a half a dozen times but no apology. But powerful white homosexuals and so calljew*s in the media she bows down to.

In America we have freedom of speech, freedom of association, as well as freedom of religion. And even without throwing in the issue of same-sex relationships, these three freedoms that we have clash and highlight our divisions. My belief [freedom of speech, association, and religion] that unrepentant gays and lesbians are going to hell has nothing legally to do with gay rights of speech, etc. We all get our freedoms and protections to do so from the U.S. Constitution, but only the true Christian believer also gets freedoms as well as restraints that come from the Word of God.

Jesus Christ was persecuted for things that He said. Jesus said that those who follower His teachings would be persecuted, too. But Jesus tells His followers not to relent on or compromise His teachings, even in the face of abuse in whatever form. Because our reward in heaven is far greater than any reward we could get by going along to get along with man.

The government of United States of America allows homosexual unions. It allows heterosexual unions that are sometimes ungodly as well. The government is not the church of God. The government is of the people, for the people, and by the people who give the most in campaign contributions and who can be counted on to go to the polls in mass and vote. No so with God’s people! We do not set the standards nor do our money and opinions influence them!

Homosexuality IS a sin in God’s kingdom! But like many other sins, it is not illegal in man’s government. The government does not make a termination relative to what is or is not a sin! God does that! And if we just read only Romans 1:18-32, we will see that homosexuality is sinful and it’s shameful in God’s sight. Furthermore to God, those who approve of sin are just as guilty as those who perpetrate sin.

Therefore, if I say what the Word of God says and folk become angry with me, then I must not recant and apologize for what He says. A true child of God is not going to choose the approval of man rather than the approval of God. He will acknowledge that the government allows folk to do many things that God says is wrong, including the sin of homosexuality, and that God hates and punishes sin even when the government gives its nod or expression of approval.

Soldiers of the Cross must stand up for Jesus – not tuck their tails and run!

So many defenders of the gay community talk about rational and critical thought but forget how irrational it is to insert your penis into another man’s behind. Not only is that irrational it’s just plain nasty. Fuck you faggots now stick that up your ass.
