Could a Beauty Website Be the Answer to Every Woman of Color’s Dreams?

There’s a new online shopping destination for all your beauty needs called DooBop.com. Its co-founder, Jodie Patterson sees it as the answer to a brown girl’s dreams as it will offer a solution to the current lack of beauty product availability for multicultural women.
It’s only been about two months since DooBop.com was launched but it’s already loaded with a collection of products from well-known, prestigious companies like Iman and Fashion Fair, as well as some exclusive newcomers, Nuhanciam and Ethnicia.
Jodie, along with her partner/co-founder Benjamin Bernet have combined their backgrounds in fashion PR and marketing to bring a much needed, diversity-driven project into the beauty market and it shows through in the site’s sleek design. The dynamic duo was inspired by the streets of New York in their new venture. As they moved about the city they were drawn to the beauty and diversity they witnessed on what they called ‘real women’, they revealed in an interview with The Huffington Post.
The black beauty market rakes in an estimated $7.5 billion annually on beauty product sales, indicating than black women spend nearly 80 percent more than their white counterparts on cosmetics and about twice as much on skin care products.
DooBop.com hopes to encourage repeat customers by offering free shipping on orders as well as free samples with every order. Another added benefit for shoppers is being able to find foreign products exclusively offered through the website. DooBop.com boasts about having a line of products from all over the world for customers to explore, and, has pledged that $1 from every sale go toward a charitable organization in New York that serves at risk teens called Community of Unity.
Another added benefit of the website is the fact that site visitors can find how-to videos that deal with some of the most common beauty dilemmas. And, the site offers a beauty consultation to receive recommended products and beauty solutions.
DooBop.com has its own staff of experts to service the needs of women of color. The founders don’t go it alone, they’ve pulled together of group of more than 100 women influencers from various walks of life to help with product selection, so you should definitely be in good hands.

Good point, if you wear makeup, by now you know what works and what doesn’t, so ordering online and supporting your own makes sense.

..and not only that as a good point, the Asians sell their product to the black community, why? Becuz other communities wouldn’t allow THEIR products that are animal tested and animal by-products added to be sold in their communities. Again, we as a people being some-what uneducated and lazy run the corner Asian store and by their products when the Asians at the end of the day go back to their half to a million dollar-homes across the tracks on the other side of town. Their money they are taking from you in the hoods goes to other Asians near and abroad, and not invested back into the hoods where they have their corner stores.
