We would say “Don’t try this at home,” but you’d have to leave the house in order to do any of this.

A woman may be getting jail time after she allegedly stole a $4,000 check from a man that she went on a first date with.  The police are saying that Tonia Dolison stole the check in order to pay back rent.

The New Jersey woman met the 62-year old man online and offered him a chance at some “young loving,” mainly because she needed to get some bills paid quickly.  Police say that she joined the man for a movie, drinks and a little physical love overnight.

Police then say that while at the man’s house, the woman saw a check on a table and she took it home with her.  Not sure why she thought she could steal an actual check and get away with it.  But that’s what happens when our public schools don’t teach financial education.

According to the courts and silive.com, here’s her confession:

“I noticed he had a blank check on the table so I just grab the first check from the book. I then made the check out to my landlord and gave it to him. I did it because I was about to be locked out of the apartment. I signed and made out the check.”

Now, Ms. Dolison won’t have to worry at all about being homeless, since police are trying to give her a permanent home in a jail cell. She is being charged with  third- and fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree forgery and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.  Maybe the theft wasn’t worth it.
