Many of “our people” grew up watching Will Smith on “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”  Since that time, Will have become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, which surprised nearly everyone.  Also, the rest of the family has gotten older and had a mix of fortunes.

But the people behind the scenes are more instrumental then the main characters, so it’s always interesting to find out what happens to their careers as well.

Jeffrey Ian Pollack, a producer for the hit television show “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” was found dead this week.  He died at the age of 54.  The producer was also the director of other films of the 1990s, including “Booty Call,” and “Above the Rim.”

CNN has confirmed that a woman told police that she was walking down a trail in Hermosa Beach, California on December 23rd.   That’s when she said that the body was found.

Pollack loved to run, but was dead when police found him.  He was wearing a jogging outfit at the time, and his cause of death has not yet been determined.  Police do not believe that the death was related to foul play.

According to The Hollywood Reporter,  Pollack worked closely with Benny Medina, who was the person who inspired “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air.”  The two formed a company called Handprint Entertainment and managed clients including Mariah Carey, Tyra Banks and Jennifer Lopez.

“He was my best friend and partner for a decade,” a friend, Jeff Beacher said in a statement to CNN. “He was my brother and father in one. Words can’t describe how I feel right now.”

He will be missed, and his show will never be forgotten.  Maybe his dying at such a young age is a reminder to everyone reading that you should get out there and pursue your dreams before it gets too late.
